hey there, thanks for the comments.
I layered the clay in steps and then shaped them into the scales using the normal wooden tool. Good luck with your work.

Hello there. thanks for the kind words. This one is no longer in existence unfortunately. I'd be open to making another under commission - the cost would be down to what kind of finish you'd want, stand and size etc but probably about £500 - £700 ball park. If you'd like to talk it, give us a shout

wow its worth it but right now i haven,t got 500 to 700 pounds on a clay python i may as well just get a real one

Yeah sorry it's expensive. This was a 200 hour project (could do it in maybe 100ish these days perhaps) plus about £100 in materials. silcone/resin to cast, clay etc. I could do it cheaper in super scupley but it'd be pretty brittle.
