Reference sheet for my Lament, Marküs.

Sorry it's a tad sketchy and all but I wanted to get the design up quickly C:

So, this is Marküs. After stumbling accross the Lament species thanks to a friend of mine, I remembered how much I've been meaning to make a vent only OC/sona! The species is really cool, and as much as I'm not fond of dogs (what most of the species looks like) this species has the ability to morph into into any animal you connect with. I've always personally felt a connection with cats, and I wanted to make my Lament a bit more looming, large and forocious to fit how my depression effects me, so I went with a tiger (which is coincidentally also my Chinese zodiac).

Marküs is speared by a large harpoon which is often connected to something by a chain, or simply used to pin him to the ground. This is representitive of the main effects of my depression. My depression causes me both an intense, internal ache- like being speared through the torso with a large, blunt object causing resonate pain through the rest of my body, and also makes me feel physically weighted down, meaning I really struggle to do simple tasks and function like the average NT person would. It feels like I get pinned down by something that causes me pain when I try to move, and to force myself to do anything some days, when that weight is on me, uses up so much energy that I exhaust quickly and spend a lot of time trying to sleep off the ache and the exhaustion.

Marküs will likely be used for venting perposes, though feel free to draw him in any situation for me if you so desire! I'm quite fond of his design and the poor sucker probably deserves a break from being my personal venting punchbag.

I expect I will likely produce a lot of work with him having harm done to his throat area, due to it being a go to place for me to "claw" at when I'm in my worst states, for some reason. I grasp at my throat quite frequently and a lot of my negative throughts generally revolve around things happening to my throat/neck, or falling/drowning (I may also include those themes in vent artwork too). Of course, any sensitive material of him that I produce I will mark as mature so you don't need to worry about that too much.

Sorry if the anatomy is wonky! I've never drawn a big cat before so it was a bit of a steep learning curve for me hahaha
