AAAA! KATAAAANG!!
I put a Zutara-ish (
) picture up earlier so I knew that I HAD to put up a Kataang one, cause its sooo much better than Zutara They're just so cute together

Ah yea, that great time when ATLA was still airing. That moment you laugh, bent tear, surprised with Aang and Katara. Even after his death, I bet Aang is still beside Katara as a spirit, and waiting for her to come with him

It's stupid. Just plain stupid. They never fell in love at any time in the series. Katara hated Zuko and always wanted to kick his ass the whole series until the last 6 episodes. What confuses me the most is that how did the whole "Zutara" thing become so popular? They clearly showed complete Kataang the whole series, and then they summed it up with the kiss at the end, and they even had KIDS in LOK! What pisses me off is that "Zutarians" keep ignoring all the Kataang in the show and saying the same lame excuses like "Katara keeps acting like's Aang's mother", and "Aang is WAY TOO young for Katara" and yada yada yada. Well, there's a two year difference between all three of them right? Aang is 12, Katara's 14, and Zuko's 16. SO we should say that Zuko's too old for Katara. 
Zuko's my favorite character and all, but no. He does not deserve Katara. Never. He has his boring Mai. I don't even care for her much, but she fits Zuko better.

Yeah, its weird. But I think that a lot of it has to do with age. Because, just in general people see it as less strange when the guy is older than the girl. So that's definitely a huge part of it. But besides that, it was mostly just wishful thinking for Zutarians, and almost all of their romance comes from fan fiction and such, and not the actual show. But based on just the show itself they have nothing, and like you said Katara only started to be civil towards Zuko at the end of the series. I mean, its an interesting idea to have them together, but it just didn't happen at all.
Yeah, I like Zuko a lot too, and I think that Mai really suits him.

Zutara had next to no backbones, with few scenes. She was revolted with Zuko for much of the show itself, while she and Aang grew in their relationship from Day 1. Best friends and lovers, there are no pairings quite like them in all of Avatar and for those few reasons alone Zutara just isn't compared with Kataang!
Katara & Aang are cutest together and this collage is one of many that proves it!

Yeah, you're totally right. I think that it was just wishful thinking for the most part for the Zutarians and people thought that it made a lot more sense because Zuko is older than Katara and whatever. But I have always loved Kataang way more.
They are just so perfect together and like you said they really were best friends before they finally got together in the end and no other couple had that. It just makes it that much better

Absolutely in agreement with you- Zutara, for whatever it is, is so strongly made by the fans themselves and not so much in the show. The very definition of a perfect togetherness, partners in everything and canon for a reason
