Description
Sarakiniko_Milos_GreeceThis is the shipwreck of the Turkish cargo ship "AFRIKA" off the north coast of Milos, close to Sarakiniko. It ran aground there in 2003, broke off in two and sunk on its last voyage, just before it was supposed to be scuttled.
The emergency response team was called in, all of the crew were rescued and contamination of the beaches was averted. The wreck was throroughly cleaned up, and the authorities decided to leave it there as a tourist attraction, a point of interest to scuba divers, and as a potential fish colony.

Very artistic pic! I think there's quite apocalyptic atmosphere. Even if it's underwater pic it looks to me like there's ash coming down from sky.

It almost feels like there is both an infinite depth and no depth to the image (visually that is), at the same time. Very well done

Σ'ευχαριστώ! Είναι και δική μου πληγή αυτή...Όλες οι υποβρύχιες εικόνες μου είναι με άπνοια πράγμα που κάνει τη φωτογράφιση από δύσκολη έως ακατόρθωτη και κάθε φορά που λέω να ξεκινήσω αυτόνομη κατάδυση δεν έχω το κεφάλαιο...

B&W is a hard choice for an underwater photo but for your shot of the wreck it strengthened the message... Such wrecks are always treasures for us divers and fishes as long as they do not pollute the environment. The particles around, if they are caused by fellow divers' fins, you should shoot them

Δυστυχώς δεν είχα ούτε θα έχω ποτέ τέτοια εμπειρία. Έχω τέτοια εξοικείωση με το νερό όσο και με το διάστημα.

Είναι άλλος κόσμος Χρήστο, η απόλυτη ησυχία... ιδίως το χειμώνα, αν ξεκινήσεις θα τρελαθείς ακόμα κι απ την επιφάνεια
