Faith should rest on no manNo strings should be tied to this fallen world
For mortals of all ages, tear and break away at things
They murder helpless beings
And sell away the strings
Beings that once had souls
But now stand empty and cruel
For those mortal men, they have no rules
They forged those stings of faith to break you
They wait til they're at their strongest
So you're held up by those strings
Then they cut them down at the points where they have their greatest meanings
In love
In trust
In friendship
And in heart
So you fall with broken soul from where the blow has hit its mark
And once you realize who has thrown the blow
The one you trusted the very most
The one you cared for and you loved
The one your heart and faith were in you'd boast
What's left of that broken soul turns black and cold as ice
For at that fateful moment you finally come to realize
Your faith lies in the ones who would bet it for a prize
So faith should lie in no man
For they break and tear away at things
They use you and abuse you
And then cut away the strings
