pretty bird, cute little parakeet, actually the proper name is budgie, since there are many other types of birds called parakeet that look very different, bird experts called them budgies, short for budgerigar which is closer to the species name. I had budgies as pets when I was little. A few of them died on us. Then we got Blueberry, he was such a good little pet bird. Blueberry was such a sweet budgie, but he didn't want to be petted, he bit sometimes but he gave kisses, and sometimes rubbed his head against your skin. budgies don't live as long as parrots, some parrots can live to be as old or older than people. budgies only live to be about 10-15 years. I had a blue budgie parakeet with a yellow head named Apollo, real pretty, very nervous and shy, I love him but when I was young I was immature and wasn't as nice as I should have been to him. He lived to be about 8.
