There was no inspiration to it really other than Kida herself. I kinda just did whatever and came out with this. A lot of the colors and styles I use are intuitive, so I suppose you could say that it is self inspired in that sense.

I had been running across a lot of Disney princess art lately, and I always thought it was sort of unfair that Kida doesn't count as an 'official princess.' I guess it might be because she eventually reaches queenhood but I think she should still count because during most of the movie she's the princess??
I dunno. But Atlantis is one of my favorite Disney movies and she's my favorite princess. <33

I LOVE KIDA <3 ;u; In feminist media studies, I was put in a group where I was to study disney princesses, and analyze them using feminist theory. Picked Kida.
...Apparently she defies almost all of the Disney princess tropes that so many feminists roll their eyes at. Go Kida~ !
ANYWAYS. This is gorgeous! I feel bad I don't get to comment on your work enough, but you've got a knack for female anatomy. I love how you know where to put the right amount of line work to suggest are muscular frame. On top of this you've managed to keep the integrity of her 'bravado' but make her sexy. Perfect!

Weh Kida is just an awesome character in general. I'm no huge feminist, but I really love a girl who'll handle things herself. Not to mention the fact that she gorgeousss.
