Description How I did BubbleTea. u O u
Wanted to try doing a watercolour tutorial.

Remember, I'm also still learning so you don't have to strictly follow my steps. This is just showing how I do my watercolours and sharing my technique. There's a lot more things you can try out everywhere on dA so don't confine yourself to just one style.

Picture : :thumb321535805:

I might do another one explaning how I paint like the wet on wet or blend colours. A lot of it depends of technique and how you handle water/your brush so this guide might be a little vague for first time painters.

but for now.

I have wanted to start using watercolors for a while now, and I have been given some very nice paint, and a pad of paper. I have a few brushes from painting pumpkins with acrylic on Halloween. My problem is that I don't know how to start. I have one page of muddy, vague shapes sitting forgotten in the dust. Anything I've seen on DA, like this, is too advanced. Do you know of anything that could teach someone with the skill and experience of a toddler to start using watercolor? I've looked for books, I've looked up tutorials and on YouTube, but all assume too much skill. It all assumes I know what I'm doing: I don't. Anything would help, even just a list of supplies I need.

hmmm...i'm only good with watercolours so i can start out by listing what you at least need :
newspapers (to protect the surface you're painting on like your table)
Paper (preferrably a thick type of paper like drawing block/pad paper)
Pallette
Water Colours
Paint brushes
A rag or old cloth(if none use tissues)

Since you're starting out right now it's best you just get used to it, just muck around and paint whatever you want however you want. Its very much like, before you walk you need to learn how to crawl. It's important that right now to just get used to the feeling of holding the brush in your hand and slowly gradually learning how to control it, enjoy yourself as you go.

Unfortunately this is the best advice i can give you u _ u a lot of it comes with practice so keep trying! You CAN do it with practice! Good luck!

It looks awesome but the bubble tea kinda ruins the picture since it's not very well drawn ;3;

Ahhh thank you > w < hehe
The important thing is to remember to work from light to dark with water colours, from watery to thick. So you might need to think ahead and plan ahead if you're going to work with complicated pictures. > w < hehe Good luck~
