Today was a day like any other. You were cleaning the house while Chris was off at work, doing whatever it is he does. Albeit pranking fellow coworkers (Who called you and begged him to stop), or just filming his rolls for different movies like Guardians of the Galaxy and Jurassic World. You silently fumed as you scrubbed at a stain on the counter. You wished you could get out like that. Go to parties with Chris and stay up late meeting different celebrity friends of his. Except, you didn't have the luck he did. He started in a van, and ended up a celebrity. You were just a stay at home kind of guy, taking on the sexist roles of females and cleaning the house like a good little boy. You cringed.

You grew even more frustrated when you saw you made no progress, so you flung the rag away and sprayed bleach on the stain, picking up your shades and house key to go for a little walk on the shore. Gosh, how you loved private beaches. No matter what mood you were in, the calm waves lapping at the shore, the soft sand under your feet, and the cool breeze always helped you calm down. You had convinced Chris a few months back to buy a beach house with you, and boy was it worth every penny. No one, except your neighbor, was allowed on the shore. The public was herded to a different, more distant part of the beach.

Every morning, you woke up to an empty bed and frowned, but when you looked out the window, the view was patiently waiting for your eyes to feast upon its glory. So now, walking along the shore, you did. The ocean wouldn't leave you everyday for work. It'd stay right there, waiting for you while washing up seashells you loved to pick up. You knew Chris had to work almost everyday, hell he was an actor for Jimminie's sake, but it just felt hollow in that big house all by yourself without his bubbly personality to keep you company.

The waves lapped at the shore, and you kicked up some mud before turning to look out at the sunset. You couldn't help but marvel at Mother Nature's beauty as a smile tugged at your lips. After a few more minutes of staring, you headed back up the steps to your home. You unlocked the back door and saw Chris finish cleaning the counter. Eyes wide, you dash up to him and jump on him, not even giving him a minute to notice you while you pressed a kiss to his cheek.

"Well, that's definitely one way to come home." He smiled and you slid off his back, turning him so you could kiss him properly. You looked at the counter after you broke apart and narrowed your eyes at the spot the stain used to be. "I so hate you for that." He smirked, opening the fridge and pulling out a beer. "I've got the magic touch, [Y/N]." "You sure do." You tossed him a wink and placed your keys in the dish it was held in and took off your shades, dumping them on the counter before turning back to Chris.

"So, is this a blue moon? You're hardly home anymore..gets lonely ya know." He sighed at your dejected face and set his beer on the counter, pulling you into a hug. "I know. It's like the director doesn't want me to have a life." He chuckled but you remained silent. "Hey you ok-?" You let out a sob, burying your face in the crook of his neck as tears spilled down your face. Chris was shocked, and he didn't know what to do for a moment. "Hey, hey, hey. It's okay, I'm home now. I'm right here." He pressed a kiss to your forehead before he scooped you up bridal style and carried you to the main bedroom where you spent so many nights alone.

Gently setting you down, Chris quickly got in beside you and you cuddled up to him, biting your lip to keep from sobbing more. He stroked your arm, placing kisses on your forehead occasionally as he helped you calm down. "I'm sorry. It's just...I almost forgot what you looked like.." He tensed. Was he seriously gone that long? He needed to make up for it. Tell his director where to shove it and then take a week off just to pamper you. Yep, it sounds like a plan. "[Y/N], I'm not leaving again." You sniffed, looking up at him with puffy [e/c] eyes. "Promise?" You held out your pinky to him, and he chuckled before linking his pinky with yours. "Promise."

He kissed your cheek before kissing you. And you grinned before happily returning the seldom gesture. You were glad he was home, but for how long could he stay? You didn't want him to leave, but you knew he had to in order to keep you both afloat. Sighing, you cuddled up to Chris and gripped his shirt. His arms brought you even closer, and you felt a kiss pressed to your forehead before you drifted off. Maybe if you grip his shirt tight enough, he can't leave.
