Hi everyone!
Introducing one of my Warriors OCs, Lilystep! Lilystep is the main protagonist of a fanfic series I'm working on called, A Lily's Shadow. This series is basically a "what if" series where Tigerstar is a good guy rather than the main bad villain. If you want to read it, go to Wattpad and look up "A Lily's Shadow: Into The Wild" where I have posted the Allegiances and will continue to post the prologue and chapters!
The art, Lilystep, and Ravenkit belong to me.

As you can probably tell I also used pencil crayons for this. The raised hind leg was being difficult to work with at the time so I just ended up leaving it the way it was.

Indeed, I have to study books and tutorials when it comes to clothing. Yet, I find hair more difficult since it's not a solid object, but rather stringy and more unique.

I think hair is DRAWN as a solid. You have to think of it that way, to capture the shapes and dimensions. That's how I do it.

Mark Crilley. Hes an awesome artist. He doesn't stick to anime/manga he does awesome realistic drawing. He does tons of tutorials on many diffrent subjects, you should totally check him out.

Thanks, what I like the most about her is that despite looking almost nothing alike Lilystep has a lot in common with her mother personally wise, while at the same time being her own person (I mean cat).

Same, but Lilystep made a few regretful mistakes, so she tends to push herself a little bit past her limits, beat herself up over her past mistakes, and carry a sense of guilt with her where ever she goes.
Also, like her father, Lilystep blames Bluestar for her mother's death.

I have it where instead of Tigerstar, it's Lilystep who kills Redtail (accidentally).
She also blames Bluestar for her father's turn to evilness/cruelty. Sort of, Lilystep wants to hold on to the happy memories she has of her father, but at the same time she's frightened of him and is scared she'll turn out to be just like him.

She did. By the time the truth was revealed Lilystep already had everything she ever wanted, which only made it more painful for her.Β
She does have a few similarities to her brother, but I like to believe that while Whitestorm perfers to think with his head, Lilystep prefers to think equally with both her heart and her head. As for forgiving herself, that's Lilystep's main struggle throughout her story, learning to forgive herself and to stop believing that every little bad thing is her fault. Despite Lilystep's mistakes, Snowfur is incredibly proud of her daughter and watches over her until the day Lilystep finally reunites with her mother.
Yes, her mate is Tigerstar (in my version he's a good guy).

It's funny because when I'm tired or not really focused I tend to accidentally call her "Silverstep", which does not fit her at all.
As for the design, I really hope some artist doesn't seethis is and say "How could you?! You copied Ivypool from Warriors! How dare you!"
For 1: The title says Lilystep, not Ivypool, meaning that it's a drawing/ref sheet of MY character!
For 2: Why do you think I coloured her that way?! Ivypool is a silver tabby with dark blue eyes, Lilystep is a white cat with dark grey tabby patches and bright blue eyes! They're completely different characters! Not to mention I had to consider genetics!

I guess I'm just so stressed because I can connect to the problem of being mistaken for somebody else. My whole life people keep telling me how I look like a spitting image of my mother. It was fun at first when I was a kid (I used to try to confuse people on purpose), but now that I'm growing up into an adult it's frustrating as hell. I don't want to be my mom's look-alike, I want to be my own person! Now a days I try to make myself more distinguished by keeping my hair long (my mom has short hair), wearing different styles of clothing, and putting more emphasis on how I'm taller than her when we're around other people. It's hard to be me when when everybody always compares me to someone else. I don't even understand how we look so alike! I feel like I see little to no resemblance between us! I don't want people to see me as my mom's clone, I want them to see me as me! My own person and nobody else!Β Β

I'm sure you will look back one day and be able to smile about this, guess I'm at least a decade or so older than you and therefore see things a bit different. A friend of mine used to have similar identity fears but she became more confident about herself as she grew older. The fact is: your are you and no one else. People tend to compare thing/persons as this is a natural human habit of association with familiar things. But this doesn't mean they eradicate your very identiy. We are all unique individuals even twins

The two things I hate most about colouring are colouring a character completely black, and colouring large/wide things.

There are times for me when backgrounds are easy, and other times when they're really hard, just depends on the background.
I know I can draw bushes really well, but at the same time I'm still working on getting my trees and rocks just right.
I also really don't like shading.
