There's something that's been going for the past month, since the movie "The Lorax" was released in theaters, and it's about the popularity on the Once-ler. Now don't get me wrong,I like the Once-ler, but it's the personality that caught my attention. But what really bugs me is the Yaoi slash pairings, mostly the "Once-cest", "TedxOnce-ler", and Ugh "Once-lerxlorax". Why? Oh I don't know, maybe because it's A CHILDREN'S MOVIE BASED OFF A CHILDREN'S BOOK!?!?!?!?!?!?
And if Dr. Seuss was alive and saw this pairing, he would be ashamed, he really would.

Mm. I support Yaoi. In a few different fandoms, I do. But... when it comes down to something like Once-lerxLorax, I, too, can't help but cringe a bit. I like to think of the two of them as VERY good friends, strictly so. The farthest I'll come to shipping the two of them is marking their friendship as a bromance, which is something I've done before, so... 'xD
So, I suppose this means you don't like Oncest just as equally? That pairing honestly brings me laughs, and I'll favorite something that has to do with it for how well it's drawn and if it's only lightly hinting at it. But I'm not, under any circumstances, a fan of smut for it. O.o I'm actually writing a fanfiction having to do with their interaction with one another, but it isn't going to be aimed at romance.
And... I just don't get TedxOnce-ler. I don't have an opinion on it yet, as I haven't looked far enough into it.

But like, I don't think Dr. Suess would have been mad to see that people like ships with guy x guy. He was a really open minded dude and I'm pretty sure he would've supported that stuff. ^_^;
Also I ship Once-ler x Lorax, the chemistry between them in the movie is great, and I don't think you should put words in his mouth, especially because you apparently don't know his mind at all. ^_^;;

I respect your opinion and support your right to make a stamp, a lot of shipping's can seem odd to people who have different preferences.
but for me it comes down to 'Live and let live'
If People have a freaky fetish I do not think it is anyone elses part to tell them they cannot explore it if it is not doing any harm. Lorax/Oncie is not hurting anyone.

I sort of agree, some of these pairings are kind of creepy.
But one thing I have to point out is that people seem to think that homosexuality is inappropriate for children. Which it's not. It's no different to heterosexual love, except it's between two dudes or girls. So I don't see a reason that gay people shouldn't be seen by kids. It's not like they'll get 'extreme' on a kids show anyway.
Besides, I think kids would grow up to be a lot less homophobic and more tolerant if they were introduced to homosexuality at a young age, you know?
