Description Redesigned: [link]

The revamped version of the first, this one boast a whomping 13 aspects of how elements are used. 4 base elements (Fire, Air, Water, Earth), the least complex, but the least restricted. 4 child elemtents (Thunder, Ice, Wood, Ore), or "schools", used in learned magic. 4 cosmic elements (Light, Dark, Terra, Stratus), the most powerful, and of the more complex to understand. And finally the stand alone "element" (Void), where time, space, balance, and chaos all coexist to form the surrounding elements. I'm so proud of this.

Well I ignored the child elements and ambiguous ones and focused on the broader ones. My theory was that elements are actually just energetic frequencies that influence our own subjective reality thereby altering them. Keeping this in mind I came up with 9 elements

The 4 Primary: Earth Air Fire Water

The 3 Personal: Body Mind and Spirit

The 2 Celestial: Sun and Moon (Or light and dark)

I'm still working on it but I think that these are the ones that cant be broken down any further, which by modern science is the definition of an element.

Tell me what u think

Hmm, interesting and curious. The 4 primary elements, of course, representing the 4 stages of matter and energy (solid, gas, liquid, and plasma/energy). And your 3 personal are like the parts of the being (although sometimes I like to consider Soul and Heart part of it, as well, but I suppose that Spirit/Heart/Soul are interchangeable). And of course, you have the 2 balances, or extremes, being light and dark, although I noticed you didn't include Void? Don't forget about the space in between, that which doesn't exist; after all, it's just as important.
The universe is broken up into 3 parts, much like the human body is: matter, energy, and void. Matter and energy co-exist and need each other to function at full potential (i.e., light and darkness). The Void, however, allows for matter and energy to exist, because it is within Void that Light and Dark mingle, savvy? It's rather block-headed and obvious to think about, but even so, it should still be recognized. Consider, if you will, the relationship between energy and matter: energy is created when matter collides, likewise, matter is held together by energy. This is basic science. However, a lesser acknowledged aspect is the void, or empty space, in which matter and energy function. Remember the proportions of the nucleus to the closest electron? It'd like a pea in the center of a football field. Essentially, all matter consists mostly of empty space, Void, and it is in this Void that energy and matter can harmoniously function.
So while your assortment of elements is impressive in its simplicity (granted, mine seems a bit excessive), it should also include Void.

I like this but how does fire and wind form lightning? just asking cause i don't understand. Also how are light and dark formed or are they just individual elements themselves?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

6WingDragon In reply to Narutoluvr [2008-03-25 15:15:21 +0000 UTC]

Well, realistically, Lightning would be formed by negative particles connecting with particles between ground and sky, so it should be Air and Earth. However, the Lightning is closer represented to the storm, which is caused by warm and cold air (Fire and Air) combining and reacting.

6WingDragon In reply to izychlinski739 [2007-12-09 07:56:26 +0000 UTC]

Stratus is the one on the very right, with all of its sprinkly blue-ness shaped like a hurricane.

This represents, as a whole, that which is the ether and/or atmosphere.

Elemental-Fawe In reply to ??? [2007-09-01 20:45:14 +0000 UTC]

Very well good! Are the ideas for the combinations of the elements based on your own thoughts or on something else? I once tried to combine the elements in my own mind and ended up with a sort of compass. Each of the four directions were an element and in between each I made a sub element:
Fire+Air=Lightning
Air+Water=Life
Water+Earth=Ice
Earth+Fire=Celestia
So anyway, love the Image!

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

6WingDragon In reply to Elemental-Fawe [2007-09-02 09:43:05 +0000 UTC]

Yours is rather similar to mine. :3 And how I thought it up concerned with how the elements acted with one another. Air freezes Water to make Ice. Fire tempers Earth to make Ore. Earth absorbs Water to make Plant. As for Lightning...I had some help with that.

Nice. In my book I have seven elements: Earth, Wind, Fire, Water, Time, Light and Darkness. I'm glad to see I'm not the only one that has a grasp of this concept.

Yush! 7 Elements for the higher level of simplicity. I like to use those when I don't wanna bother with all this other complicated stuff I thought up. X3

Terra is the macrocosm that is the Earth, nature as a whole, etc.

Stratus represents the ether and/or atmosphere.

This is a great work, I like how you've put them all together... facinating concept, and this is the best union I think I've seen! Like Shadow, I've sorta been looking for something like this too, more out of fascination and true organization, less need to write. Favorite'd hands down.

shadow-sketcher In reply to 6WingDragon [2006-12-14 12:52:17 +0000 UTC]

I was planning on doing some elemental animals or "heroes" (haven't decided which yet, maybe a mix of both) once my homework levels become tame. Also, I may do my own wheel based off yours, only if you don't mind of course.

Also, if it's not much trouble, could you send me the name of each element? Much appreciated!

6WingDragon In reply to shadow-sketcher [2006-12-15 22:48:28 +0000 UTC]

Sounds fantastic. :3 I'd love to have me ideas used. ^..^

And the name of the elements are, starting from the top and going from left-to-right:
Light, Ore(Crystal/Metal), Fire, Storm/Lightning, Terra, Earth, Void, Air/Wind, Stratus, Wood, Water, Ice, and Dark.
