Description

Scientists at MIT had made great advancements in teleportation technology. They were now able to teleport anything smaller than an average sized car anywhere in the world, with 99% reliability. And that 1% usually consisted of things such as being teleported to the wrong side of the room, or just outside the building. Nothing like “The Fly” if that’s what you’re thinking. But of that 1% of failed teleportation, there was one unsolved accident, which baffles investigators to this day. This is that story. (DUN DUN)

One of the main reasons the teleporter had been invented was to transport people and supplies from hard to reach, or expensive to reach, locations. So it made sense to use it to transport researchers from MIT’s research station in Antarctica. It was easier than sending in a plane to make the dangerous flight and land on a snowy runway. So when their 6 month tour in Antarctica was up, scientists Mark, Justin, and Jessi stepped onto the teleporter pad, to be whisked back to Cambridge, Massachusetts. The operator punched in the coordinates, and a blue light enveloped the three.

Unfortunately, a fluke computer error occurred. Essentially, the teleporter worked by programming in the coordinates of where you wanted to send the item or person. Then, it takes a scan of what is on the pad and inputs the data, so it knows what to reassemble. This time though, the computer switched around some numbers. So instead of the coordinates of MIT and the proper dimensions of the three. It took them to Arlington, Texas, and made them less than half a millimetre tall.

The three were suddenly enveloped in darkness. They had no idea where they were. This wasn’t the MIT transportation room. Only a small amount of light entered where they were. Through three small slats, it was just enough to see that they were on a bright white surface, much like the snowy surfaces they had just left.

“Where the hell are we?” Jessi shouted.

“I have no idea” Mark replied. “We should try and call the control center.”

“No signal” Justin said, holding his cell phone.

They didn’t have to wait long for an answer. Suddenly their whole world lit up brightly, blinding them temporarily. When they regained their sight, they couldn’t believe what they were seeing. A young, black woman’s face. And she was gigantic. It was like her face took up the entire sky. They didn’t realize it, but the teleporter had actually deposited them into the locker room of the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders, and onto the white leather boots of veteran cheerleader Ashlee Ford.

They didn’t even have time to react. They just hung on for dear life as Ashlee grabbed the boots out of her locker and set them on the ground. They felt weightless and disoriented by the sudden downward motion, followed by crashing hard into the leather surface as the boots suddenly stopped.

“Help!! HELP US!!!” they screamed. But there wasn’t any hope that they would be heard. The voices of numerous cheerleaders boomed above them, as loud as a busy airport, as they chatted idly about gameday topics.

The three researchers could see the locker room around them, and the towering figures of the slender women walking around above them, but had no way of escape. Even a jump down off the boot would be fatal at their size. With no choice but to accept their current situation, Mark made the decision to head for the toe of the boot. Perhaps they could try to climb down from there. As they set out, Jessi let out a terrified scream. The others turned to look up, and they saw Ashlee’s enormous foot heading down towards them, her toes pointed downwards. They started to run for their lives, but didn’t have a hope of outrunning the giantess’ foot. Luckily though, she wasn’t aiming for them. She slipped her svelte foot into her boot. The other foot followed suit shortly.

“Ashee! Come get a picture!” another cheerleader said.

The ground shook like an earthquake as Ashlee walked across the room, completely unaware of the tiny people on her boot. They clung on for dear life, hiding in the crevices of the leather pattern. They knew it was just a matter of time until their lost their grip from the shockwaves of every single step she took. But mercifully she stopped.

“Is everyone okay?” Justin yelled

“I think so!” Jessi said pack, clearly flustered.

They looked up again, seeing seven other enormous figures posing for a picture with the woman they were trapped on. It was like looking up at a city skyline colored in blue and white.

“We’ve got to get off of here” Mark said, ready to lead his crew again.

His wish would be granted sooner than he hoped. Ashlee lifted her leg up to make a cute pose, flipping the three tinies upside down. They held on as long as they could, but soon plummeted to the ground. By some miracle, they survived, though they were separated. Jessi looked up to see Mark lying unconscious, and Justin staggering to his feet. She ran towards them to try and help. At least they were off the boot now, and could probably escape.

BOOM!

Jessi was thrown backwards as Ashlee’s foot crashed back down to the floor. Mark and Justin disappeared underneath her heel. They stood no chance. flattened into nothingness by the massive woman. Jessi let out another terrified scream. Her fellow scientists were wiped out, just like that. And then…

BOOM

Another cheerleader, Rachel (the blonde next to Ashlee), started walking back to her locker. As she did, her boot crushed Jessi flat. The three were already gone. It was not possible to survive the (comparatively) thousands of tons of weight crashing down on them. But just for good measure, the rest of the cheerleaders would walk all over where the three  bloody red specks now stained the carpet, leaving nothing left of the unfortunate scientists.

Mark, Justin, and Jessi are still officially listed as missing. The case remains unsolved.

Hey all. I've got an idea to make a new series about these various teleporter accidents. Let me know if that's something you'd like to see.
