Don't make fun of my title. i'll kick you in the head. (whenever they create that ability to instant message a kick to the head)So, uh... well... yeah. If you're not down the Punchout!! i dunno what to tell ya. I guess this kinda relates to my original over two years ago with Sparkz's dad. XDDD
haven't exactly come a long way, but... whatever, it's not about forcing it. when it clicks, it'll click.

hahaha i dunno why but most people were confused here. i guess i wasn't able to execute the pose correctly; i was trying to make it so Sparkz was whispering to the camera the reason why Denny wasn't really thrilled with his level of competition.
in the WVBA (World Video Boxing Association , i think) in the Punchout!! world, there is the minor circuit, the major circuit, the world circuit, and if i'm not mistaken there might be a special circuit. the minor circuit, as the name implies is populated by boxers that are completely talentless hacks (Glass Joe has a 1-99 record) n00bs and boxers way past their prime. that would be why Sparkz competes in the minor circuit because he only has one paw.
Denny on the other hand doesn't win many matches if any at all, so that's why he's apparently been demoted to the minor circuit.

i used to fight without my right arm.. it takes some getting used to, but there's a saying in boxing that goes something like 'one who rules with his left, rules the world'
in other words, if you can beat a person with your jab, you don't even need your right hook.
well, that, and the fact that Denny never wins fights... XDD

I speak first as a cartoonist who loves to help an underdog, this is decent. Your style? I like enough for it to be considered one. See me as intrested in how you do it. But, you need improvements. Your arms are good, but lack shoulder blades, for example, Sparkx left arm looks odd because of the lower section (the line closer to his chest), if you were to erase the line just before it connects with the back, it would look less stale and more like an arm, that is how shoulder blades work (when drawing surreal anatomy anyway).
I will not be too cruel however, upon Denny. I said in that note about how I expect to see him in your style and not at a swing of that of which is like my own style, my view? For a first attempt, not bad. To say it is crap would be harsh, even for Hank, so I will not, but instead, say what I really think.
I can tell that is Dennis Charles Desmond Macguffin alright (I just love using his full name), with ease. I could tell from the thumbnail before I even saw the title itself. I can tell you tried to draw his broken nose and I give credit for the mismatched pupils. My advice however is his stance. His top half is facing left, but the line dividing his legs in the shorts is facing right. Not a good form of perception that. Unless you are to draw a character being surprised by something in the other direction, forcing them to twist their upper body around, then drawing mismatched torso with legs means you're gonna have a bad time.
I liek those shoes though! I must admit, I am terrible with feet. You may note I rarely draw them, but these look nice! Unlike the shorts, they match his upper stance just fine, so it's just the shorts I have an issue with.
Whilst I understand the concept, I fully don't get the stance. Did Sparkz try to punch him but miss, resulting in him spiralling out of control? If so, then thats fine. I just need a clarification is all.
I can't really offer much more advice. Your style is very different to mine, so I can't really say how to draw better arms or whatever. But know this. Despite what I say, I love all gift/fan art I get. No matter the style. Effort has been put into this and it shows. Plus, I spent more time saying about how you can get better, rather then saying the flaws with this. Unless it is a serious flaw, I never go back to edit a pic, but rather use it as motivation to do better on the next pic. I once read a book that said that even pros often have a routine with drawings where it is "fail, fail, fail, fail, fail, fail, win!", it never hurts to have to try again. Don't see it as a fail! See it as improvement!
So yeah, thank you for the gift art. I spent all day yesterday getting excited about it and this was a very nice bow on a already sweet day.

still not sure i really did the anatomy justice, but i think i at least addressed the issue f the shoulder blade on this next one. might have been a bit too ambition with the dynamic pose, but i'll let you be the judge of that and believe me when i say during my hiatus, anatomy will be the number one thing i work on.
at least this time around i think the drawing isn't difficult for anyone to get as to what's going on and it seems (at least to riki) rather, scratch that, very appropriate for Scott. XD (the character, not the person of course) XD the accessories and background took a lot longer than expected, but at least they are done and all that's left is the inking and coloring of the characters so my half'll definitely be done with 24 hours. 
regardless, yes. i had to read this advice again and.... i probably should have read this BEFORE i sketched Scott int he first place.

i was scared to death to read this... it's like the 32 seconds before the match when the ref gives the instructions in the middle of the ring. how stupid is that if they already give the instructions in the locker room?
gah, i hate using this expression, but i suppose it's warranted here... guilty on all counts.
before i get too far into this party, though... i gotta say thank you. whether you're doing it because of the 'eye for an eye' mentality or whatever... the level of detail of advice you're giving me here is unparalleled. much obliged.
So, i suppose it's a good thing that about 75% of what you've point out i was cognizant to at one point or another in the process. the connected arm thing with Sparkz... i'm glad you called me out on that. that was laziness on my part, for flat coloring purposes and i should have erased a section, for sure.
but i'm not going to backtrack and address every single issue you've point specifically to, because... well that'd be wasting time. XD
this further solidifies the fact that everything i 'learned' about anatomy i did some from tiny toon adventures and sonic the hedgehog. and that's the problem. XD 
hahahah the shoes... i had to go to like all your pictures and i don't think i found Denny's shoes visible once. XDDD i was taking a creative license there
okay, i will address Sparkz's pose. Seeing as how it's only been 3 seconds into round 1... Denny is feeling a bit embarrassed having to fight a one-pawed cat that's probably 12 years his junior and he's still reeling from this fact when the bell rings. Sparkz is breaking the 4th wall and whispering to the viewer the reason Denny (his full name takes too long to type XDDD) is feeling a bit demoralized. For all intents and purposes, if Denny had the right trainer, he'd totally be in the world circuit by now. (who is his trainer? maybe his brother should share his own trainer with him XD)
anyways... yeah... muzzle fail. XD noted XDDD
either way, bottom line, this won't be taken with a grain of salt. XD i think from now on i'm going to imagine someone ripping my drawings apart in the process so that i'll take more effort into getting the action lines, anatomy and whatever else that's all wonky to be... at least a bit better than it would have been without taking that voice into account.
it is a HUGE compliment that you could determine from the thumbnail that this was Denny, though... XD i'll get it one day.

XDDDD true, true... that would be very effective. considering the rules in a typical punchout game, since they apparently allow headbutts, alcohol, magic and kicks in the WVBA, i think it would be okay for Sparkz to use his right without a glove. if he were to ever actually connect with it, being as how his reach with it is so darned limited, i would assume the calloused stump would probably be an instant knock out blow.
