To give it that little extra something I think there were a couple of options.
The hair could of been razer sharp, to give the feeling of the moment, & movement, been frozern in time. However I'm not sure how practical that would be to achieve with a compact camera.
The seond option would of been to add a sense of movement, by bluring the hair a little. This I think would be possible - drop the iso to 100, and thus the shutter speed would drop to hopefully a speed slow enough to add some blur
