Description
A commission from of his original character, Lessien, undertaking the most dire file transfer ever. I'm still trying to find new ways to do colors, and I'm trying not to rely on Photoshop color-correction to fix my color palettes for me. Also, this contains a fair bit of sauce, so into the Sauce folder it goes.Related content

i always like that computer-screen effect you have on your work, I could never really figure it out myself. As a note, if all that light is hitting her, the reflection on her skin, boobs, and pants should also refect that color too

If I am making an educated guess (in Adobe Photoshop),You would choose a blurry/soft/fuzzy brush and lightly brush the areas that need to be highlighted with the highlight color on a filter...maybe soft light or screen, the 'blurry' color will end up tinting the highlight instead? I'm not a sai user, so I can't help you much if you don't use photoshop :I

Well, what I meant was how to blend the colors to actually look correct. The skin tone I used is lighter than the red I used for the highlights, so it just looked like she had red paint on her face. Maybe I should have had the red overtake some of the base colors since it was so prominent, but I'll try that next time. =O

I'm not really a painterly person, but I think you're mistaking hue and shades. Just because something is brighter doesn't mean it has to be lighter. Hue just is like the color part...hm...like if you stick orange next to green, somehow the clashing colors seem to look brighter. It's one of those trick of the eye things. I'm sure you've heard of limited color palletes. Honestly I'm not really the best person to talk to about this stuff. Someone like endless and angie are better at explaining, from the work I see from them. Well, practice makes perfect :]

I don't know if there's much that can be said that I haven't already so to repeat myself: I love it. Background, character, lighting and all. Thanks a lot for all your hard work and I wish you the best in your future pieces.
