Description
I recently upgraded from CS2 to Photoshop CS5. Best thing I've done this year so far.I’ve never finished a picture of Yesterday without his siblings, so here he is. Yesterday is nostalgia, regret, memory, loss, all the things you should have done but did not do, all the mistakes you made, and all the good choices you made too. He remembers it all.
The picture is also based around some dreams I’ve been having. I keep dreaming about people I used to know, people who are dead or who I haven’t seen in a long time. I dreamt my cousin was a black phantom with white eyes, I dreamt of a friend I had in high school, of an ex, of family members who were dead. I keep dreaming of the past.
So the shadows represent those dreams.
I guess.
And for the hell of it, here's a song I listened to during the long hours I worked on this.
EDIT: Oh yeah. The parchment says "Those who dwell on the past are blind to the present"
I feel the fear of
uncertainty
stinging clear.
And I . . .
I can’t help but ask myself how much I let the fear take the wheel and steer.
It's driven me before
And it seems to have a vague
Haunting mass appeal.
Lately I'm
beginning to find that I
should be the one behind the wheel.
Whatever tomorrow brings,
I'll be there
With open arms and open eyes, yeah
Whatever tomorrow brings, I'll be there . . .
I'll be there.
So if I
decide to waiver my
chance to be one of
the hive
Will I
choose water over wine
and hold my own and drive?
It's driven me before,
And it seems to be the way
That everyone else gets around
Lately, I'm
beginning to find that when I drive myself, my light is found.
Whatever tomorrow brings,
I'll be there

This is such a beautifully inspiring piece of art (in my opinion anyway!). Simple and cute, I absolutely love it.
