Well, the Maya of today are a very interesting people, that`s for sure. If I could describe the Maya of today, in word, that word would be: stubborn. Which if you say to any Maya that they are stubborn, they take it as compliment. They are a proudly stubborn and resistant people. Wonderful warm and huge hearted.

In fact, the state of Yucatan, which is home to a large population of indigenous Maya people, the resident native born locals are often called `Yucatercos`, which is a play on words in Spanish meaning: stubborn from the Yucatan.

Remind me and I`ll send you a note on my take on the maya universe. And I still owe you a proper response to your letter! Maybe I can combine the 2...
