that took about 8hrs. I just usually go with an idea, usually I have an idea for a part of it, then build everything else around it. In this case I started with the front wall/entry and went from there. I am also preparing to post another castle styled house that came out better because i got the castle set from the Sims 3 website.

Ah. I do the same, too.
Though, lately, I've been having artist block--so I figured that if I draw out a concept, then maybe I could get something.
Like now, I'm trying to get ideas in hopes of building my house.
I lost the data for my sims when I switched computers, so now I have to start from scratch
But your house gave me some good ideas (Don't worry, I'm not going to copycat in any way--I don't even post my stuff on the sims store.) on how I want the house to look.
So thank you for second-handedly helping me in my crisis!

I hate it when I have artist block, especially when i want to make another house lol.
If you still have the old computer, unless it died, you can actually pull the old data off of it and move it to your new computer, just need to put the files in the right spot.
I'm not worried about people copying things I do, I always look at other houses people make and try to get ideas and inspiration from what other people have done, keeps the creative juices flowing

Yeah, it died...
Anyway, since last we spoke, I finally came up with an idea for a house.
It was after I found some sims on The Exchange that I could hairstyles from. I was so exstatic about finding out something new (That practically everyone new about, but me--such a noob)--more ideas just started coming to me!
Now, my house isn't exactly finished, but majoriaty of it is done. Though, yesterday, my dog almost got hit by a meteor (in the game XP).
Luckily, I had the Testingcheatsenabled true, on, so I was able to teleport him out of there.
Anyway, I'll let you go before I talk your ear off.

that is cool you came up with an idea, the exchange is a good place to poke around and find things to inspire
I remember my sim got hit by a meteor, I was like wtf!! lol, luckily I just reloaded my game and just watched out for growing shadows over my sim
