Reminds me of the U.S.S. Sulaco. Awesome profile sketch

Kinda reminds me of a UNSC Freight, fused with a GTVA Research Vessel.

Where is the bridge, though?

Lol, i had to look up what GTVA was.
As for the bridge... well, there are two options. A) like in a 'conventional' large size spaceship (like from star trek or wars) it would be in some visible but ridiculously exposed position, easily visible from the outside or B) safely enclosed within the ship, more like an ops-room than a bridge, like (i think) in the 2003 BSG.

I say a Mix. One Bridge Section to allow for exterior checks, and another Section to house the Commander and much of the sensor system.

I mean, remember, in Mass Effect 2, the Infiltration of the Geth Stronghold shows the fatal flaw on relying solely on sensing equipment...

Heyo from Project Comment!

That's a big sparrow!

So, this looks like a gunship of some kind.Β  I see the turret gun up on top, a large forward facing cannon and that kind of spear-like gun down below.Β  It appears to be a small-to-mid-sized vessel, so I'm guessing fairly manoeuverable. It looks like there are some windows in that gun turret and also in the forward section amidship.Β  I don't see any smaller canons or anti-fighter gun turrets. Looks fairly imposing.Β  I certainly wouldn't want to be in front of this thing when it's shooting!

Very well drawn, and your line work is quite good.Β  I do notice some areas (very faint lines) that perhaps were supposed to be erased?

Main critiques:

Design -- that narrow waist right in the middle makes me think this was designed by the Empire.Β  Always a critical flaw with their space vessels!Β  A well placed blaster shot of phlogistonic torpedo will crack the ship right in half!

Lack of Markings -- ships are usually marked in some way (visual cues so that friendly vessels know who's there, and enemies know when to crap their britches!)Β  This could be a deliberate design feature, but there's no context to judge.

Context -- I don't know what a Spire Kat is or what it means what a Spire Kat design is.Β  A link to more detailed context would be helpful, as would some descriptive text of your own.

Overall effect -- the single greatest flaw in the whole piece is the simple lack of description. This would have looked awesome with a nice clean border and some info boxes detailing what's what!

Thank you for the constructive comment Β I laughed at the bit about the empire, thats IS quite a striking flaw.Β As for the ID markings.... there is actually some rectangular space in the front lower portion of the ship, not sure how to point it out, where i was going to put ... something. Couldnt decide what. A number? Insignia? A jolly roger?

Hmm... One does not exclude the other. Could have a pennant number, a roundel if the dustinction between air force and navy has been blurred, and nose art or livery. LotGH has some examples of it - cannot recall the name off the top of my head, but while most of the FPA capital ships are plain olive or sea green, some of them have complex camouflage or personal livery in addition to the pennant number.

I honest thought this whole thing was gun at first. That's not a complaint, just something I noticed.

The only thing that seems really off to me is that the gun towards the back (left) looks as if it should be slightly higher. The way it is currently, it looks like the gun in the front could potentially block it.

I like the vertical-ish wings on the back, that's definitely something I've never seen (then again, I don't see spaceships every day).

This is a good pencil sketch, all things considered.

lol yeah, a lot of people thought it was a gun at first glance. as for the gun being blocked by the cannon.... yeah. I messed that up. Anyhow, thanks for the comment
