Description My coptic binding book from last semester's bookbinding class. I decorated the cover paper using watercolors, walnut ink, salt and alcohol. I was really happy with how it came out

That's a lot of signatures (the maximum I've tried is seven), but the binding looks really tight. Like the long stitches on the covers, and especially the decoration on the covers. Does it have end-papers?

Nope, no end-papers. Yeah, if I remember right, keeping the tension right on the binding was difficult, because you don't want to go too loose, but if you go too tight, the book won't close.

How did you do the long sewing parts on the covers? Would you consider posting a tutorial for this? I just learned coptic sewing, and this looks awesome.

Ha ha, thanks! I don't think it was super complicated--all you do is punch the hole further out instead of right near the spine, and sew it the same way. If you wanted anything more specific than that, I'd probably have to dig out my bookbinding notes from hibernation... but let me know if you do need more specific instructions!
