I tried my hand at a watercolor portrait and I love the finished results. Β I have learned never to force control over watercolor. Β The medium will blend on it's own, an imperfect perfection.

Although the choice to let the paint do its own texture is interesting on its own, what draws me in are the color choices. If feels as though there are a lot of colors, yet they don't compete with each other. It can be difficult to pull something like this off without coming across as garish. Yet it works well here because the colors aren't too saturated.

Thank you for your thoughtful comment. Β A lot of the palette is based in purple and blue tones. Β I used these as a unifying base to build other colors.
