Date Picture Taken: Feb 5, 2019, 5:15:51 PM

I just thought that was hilarious. I used to forget to set the date on my cameras as well... but I usually left it in the past.

OOOOOH! I see what you mean! I never got around to setting the date. I think I'll leave it like that. It raises questions...

Haha! It's always good to keep people curious. Especially in the Arts business.....

I like it when people see things in my pictures that I had not seen before. It's part of why I never add any 'descriptions'... I feel they would just diminish the picture somehow.

I usually provide hints in the titles of my paintings... I make a relation with the title to what I've incorporated into my piece. I am not overly concerned if people can completely see 'my vision'. I like it when they can develop their own thoughts on the work.

Same here. Titles are pretty much the only descriptions I give for my pictures. And they're nothing more than an expression of how I felt about the picture at a given time... sometimes I look at older stuff, and feel that a different title is in order.

Hmmm...Suddenly I want to look at my older work and see if the title is still relevant...

If it is relevant to you... then it was a good title. Or at least that's how it works for me.

It always bugs me deep down when I have a piece with a horrible name....the name that I gave because I didn't want to think of anything better at the time.

I don't think it's about not wanting to think about something better, as much as it is the picture/painting not 'saying' much to you. Some pictures I look at once and I come up with a title right away, couldn't really title them anything else, while others... I just scratch my head and stare at them like an idiot for a while.

Thats interesting....Looking at some of my older work, I realise that I've FORGOTTEN the titles of the pieces. Time to come up with new ones!

It's happened to me before as well. Someone would fave a picture from two years ago... and I'd just stare at the title, wondering idly 'That was one of mine?! I don't remember a thing about it!'...

Well with the amount of photos you have, I'm not surprised you'd forget a few of them.

I can't say yet if I'm oblivious to my work. I don't think I have quite enough pieces for that.

rk2901 In reply to A-r-i-t-a [2008-03-13 18:44:05 +0000 UTC]

Well, I don't know that being oblivious to anything is a good thing... especially when everyone else knows something you don't.
