Dylan, during his childhood, lead a fairly normal life, and although there were some small incidents concerning objects staying in the air for too long, they were never looked into. He had a strong interest in the scientific field, and decided to become a scientist. After years of studying and later working at an institute, he became a lead scientist in nanotechnology. He developed an experimental type of nanobot that was able to be used as flexible and extremely resistant armor,but it had one major flaw: the robots were unable to be kept in a certain shape for longer then three hours. Frustrated by this, Dylan threw a batch of nanobots to the wall. Quickly realizing his mistake, he attempted to at least save a couple, but to his suprise, they were floating in the air. After overcoming the initial shock, he discovered that he has the ability to make objects levitate at will. After messing around a bit, Dylan took the rest of that batch of nanobots to run some more experiments somewhere more private, to keep his newfound abilitiy secret. At his house, he began to train himself to learn how to master his power. Several months later, Dylan was much more proficient at lifting and moving objects, having found out a way to augment his ability with certain materials, and learning of it’s drawback: when using it, he is unable to speak. Shortly afterwards, Dylan saw the video that revealed to everyone that superhumans exist. He maintained his position of keeping his powers a secret, until one day, his laboratory was attacked by a superhuman, and nearly all of his co-workers were killed or injured. In the aftermath of this tragedy, Dylan vowed to protect others from being harmed by superhumans, and became a vigilante. He donned a suit made from the nanobots left from the attack, and added extra armor and a mask made from an amalgamate of materials that increased his power. While working at a different laboratory, he devised a way to properly weaponize his nanobots, and changes their form to whatever the situation demands. Now, Dylan can be seen fighting superhumans that wish to harm innocents under the alias of Matrix.
