Description
Colleen looked to the threats before her as they slowly shambled closer. The two that still had skin had vacant, glazed-over eyes, and acted near-mindless, save for an intense aggression and hatred for life. The third's hollow eye-sockets glimmered with an unnatural light, and a similar aggression. The skeletal fiend slowly moved forwards, even though it completely lacked any tissue to hold its bones together - the only thing preventing it from collapsing being a well of necromantic energy within it - and stumbling directly in front of it were the two husks of formerly-living humans.
Undead. This wasn't the first time Colleen had heard of - or faced - such a threat, but it was nonetheless unsettling to face animated corpses and skeletons. Still, she couldn't lose composure; she had to deal with these monsters head-on. Their existence was a travesty, one that had to be corrected for the safety of the nearby town's citizens, and more imminently, for the safety of her and her kit (soon to be plural).
"...By the will of Eveylene Cavas..." The foxy cleric drew her staff from her back, and raised it high. "I will purify these unholy monsters, and allow their bodies the eternal rest they deserve. I cast the Vitality Rite; rise to undeath no more!"
The tip of the cleric's staff glowed with a golden light, and then glimmered with green; a golden spiral formed underneath her, motes of light raising from the 'spell circle' that had appeared, lighting up the dark dirt path she stood upon.
The first of the undead rushed forwards in an attempt to strike at her, but its hand quickly fell inanimate, a green-and-gold flame covering it... Which quickly spread, covering the undead's entire body. It collapsed into a heap, no longer animate, now well and truly dead again.
As the golden flames faded, Colleen felt a familiar sensation in her abdomen; a pressure and heat, and an increasing tightness to her robes and skin.
A small bead of sweat formed on her face as her belly started to swell, and as the second of the zombies lunged forwards, 'screaming' out with an inhuman voice. Despite this, she continued holding her staff aloft, and began to speak the rite once more, even as the swelling made her change her posture to maintain balance.
"Return to your eternal rest!" The glow returned, and the undead burned up much like the first.
...And then, the swelling continued, her stomach reaching further and stretching her robes yet more. The growth was exerting Colleen, and she broke out into a more intense sweat, taking deep breaths as the final undead began closing in.
"Huff... By the will... Of Eveylene Cavas!" She said, clearly having difficulty maintaining her posture, and her focus.
The cleric continued holding her staff high as the skeletal undead reached forwards.
As it reached out, its arm quickly 'ignited' and crumbled into a heap; and soon enough, the rest of its 'body' followed suit, the two pinpoints of light in its vacant sockets fading entirely.
Colleen didn't have time to celebrate her victory, as she quickly felt the exhaustion of what she just did wrack her body... And as yet another kit came into existence within her womb, stretching her out yet further.
It's at this point that the foxy cleric couldn't keep upright anymore, and she fell backwards, the golden circle underneath her fading away, leaving her with only the dim sky, the collapsed undead, her stretched-out robes and her heavily-burdened belly to contemplate as she recuperated from her triple-healing.
"Huff... Hah... Okay, that's that..." She groaned, resting a hand atop her swollen stomach as she felt the stirring of one of her new 'occupants'... And heard a faint rumble from her belly. "...I hope those villagers can get us some food when I get back..."
...and the only way to kill them, is to heal them.
Undead are fairly durable, all things considered, but due to their already-dead nature, healing magic actually damages them quite well. This means that clerics are naturally quite effective against them. But, since Colleen's healing powers put babies in her belly, this can lead to some... Burdensome situations.
This is a piece of art Bree made of my Foxgirl Cleric, Colleen! She did a wonderful job, and I really loved how the pose, 'equipment' (staff, robes, 'cape') and tum shape/size turned out. So naturally, I colored it in!
I experimented with lighting a bit and tried making the shine from her 'magic circle' reflect off her underbelly and the bottom-most parts of her robes and sleeves. I can definitely say I liked how this color turned out, even if there's one or two minor flaws or improvable things here and there.
And with regards to the story, it was written on a whim all in the course of about thirty minutes, plus a bit of editing time; inspiration struck me for once. It may not be a very high-quality or long story, but it should fit the original title and theme of the image. And I hope ya' enjoyed both, regardless!
Original image by Bree-Doodles ; go check out her stuff, it's all fantastic!
Colors by me.
Update (5/12/2020): Adjusted shading and 'shine' effects slightly, and filled in some missing hair in the back. Original version can be found here .

Who knows? She could be the size shown here, or she could be something closer to the size on display here ... Either way, she's definitely bigger than when she started off.
