We have Aoi Homura the Mysterious Thief and Emelda the Hitwoman on the same screen and Parasyte offscreen but his silhouette is there, outside the simple room.
Parasyte still has yet to set the time bomb because Homura and Emelda have not decided on their time for the challenge yet.
What is the motive of doing this?.
Why, it is to see who will win the 'Right Hand Woman' or 2nd in Command position whether Parasyte likes it or not. A handful yet he cannot refuse to entertain their desires, especially Homura's, to be bound and gagged.

An alternate scene with a different motive, gagged for the full effect too:

If Homura wins, they will have Japanese Rice Curry.
If Emelda wins, they will have Steak.
If neither of them win, they will have Pizza.
