Description This is my first 3ds interior render. The picture is actually what I want my design studio to look like. Hope you all like it, and I'm open for any comments and critiques.

Made in Autodesk 3D Studio 8
31/2 hours to render.

Thanks.

Thanks. But those are actually shadows. For some odd reason, the Global Illumination just made those absolute light-riddened areas. Basically, from the light setup, those points in the whole room would get no light, if you look at the geometry and the angles of the light+refraction/reflection[estimations].

Anyways, thanks .

Very nice rendering, the scene looks very naturally lit. Did you use Vray?
BTW, do you know what these black spots on the left side of the image are? They're looking rather odd...

looks good so far, the floor is too shiny though.

Thanks, and I've noticed that also. Is there anything else that could be done to improve on it? Since your art basically inspired this style of rendering, could you give a few tips ?

you have 2 options:

1) decreasing the reflect/hightlight value (around 0.5 to 0.6) and increasing the Subvid (20-30)

2) making a falloff reflection. Here how u do:

_ in the color slot, you can either use color or textures
_ In reflection slot , pick FALLOFF map : 1st color keeps black, 2nd color pick a gray color with the value about 128- 150. Choose type Fresnel also
_ change reflect/hightling from 1 down to .75 (higher value gives more reflection)
_ check USE interpolation

Render it and see the different.

Thanks, I'll give it a shot.
Also, could you post on your deviant page when you're going to have new tutorials up? The ones that you had helped with a few aspects in this.
