Description
This is one of my favourite scenes in Shaun of The Dead. I couldn't resist whipping it up one busy week. I am SO sorry to have left out the mum but I couldn't quite fit her in this concept.See if you can find references to some other British shows these guys star in.
From left to right: Pete Serafinowicz, Tamsin Greig, Dylan Moran (as Harry Potter), Jessica Hynes, Simon Pegg, Lucy Davis, Martin Freeman, and Nick Frost.

- Oscar Wright's t-shirt design "I GOT WOOD"

awesome the film is great and your artwork is too. the facial expressions are great. I like the scene in the movie where they all act like zombies (well at least they tried).

Yes. This has to rank as one of my favorite farts on this site. This makes me so nostaligically happy. I really like how you incorporated the personalities from other shows too. Like Moran's booze and cigarettes, and Jessica Haynes with the pencils and such in her hair.
I went back and watched this movie today actually. I finally understood what Nick Frost said when he was asking for a Cornetto.

Ha. Ah you got the pencil gag! That orange book in Tim's chest pocket is meant to be a comic book too - I just couldn't be stuffed adding more information to it.
Yeah. The Cornetto gag's quite funny - see if you can spot it in Hot Fuzz too! - Vanilla

Well that was just an estimate. There may be more, lets see what I can think of off the top of my head.
1. Crunchy
2. Puffs
3. Checkered
4. Paws
5. Chile Limon Crunchy
6. Jalepeno Cheddar Crunchy (My personal favorite)
7. BBQ Cheddar
8. Flamin Hot
9. White Cheddar
10. Twisted
11. Baked
I'm not really sure if they still make the checkered or paws ones though.

Wow. So that kinda makes up for the lack of culture then.
Although Crunchy, Puffs, Twisted and Baked sound as if they'd taste pretty similar if not exactly the same.
"Paws" is just the shape difference though, right? You're just forcing it here.

Aah,, I should check the devart messages more regularly. Are you making christmas cards for others too? Or just this gift for your parents?
Well, it's summer over here (straight from winter too!), so I've been hiding in the garage, all wrapped up and hayfevered.

WonderDookie In reply to a4anner [2008-11-30 19:38:56 +0000 UTC]
The one I'm working on right now is just for my parents (it's taking FOREVER, and I haven't even figured out the background yet... ergh.) That's a good idea to make Christmas cards though. I'm so terrible at giving gifts, at least that would be something.
My friend's dad makes cookies every year... and I'm talking THOUSANDS of cookies. I just thought you'd like to know that.
Well we're still pretty much in the fall over here, which is freakish because usually by now we have a lot of snow. It's actually kind of scary. It's damned near warm outside.

Your friend's DAD bakes thousands of cookies annually??! Wow. He sounds awesome! What a dad.
Oh I'm wondering if you got the christmas gift finished yet. I wanna see!
And yeah, I've been working on my christmas card for a few weeks but I can't be stuffed sitting in front of my computer, so it's been in my reject folder for ages. That plus my idea became slightly less original since the crazy American Christmas shopping news.

Yeah... it's funny because the guy looks like a viking with a cigar stuffed in the side of his mouth... but then he's surrounded by dainty little Christmas cookies.
No. Not finished yet. I was probably going to work on it a bit more today. I'm laid off for the winter, as of Thursday, so I'll have a bit more free time to work on it too.
Were you going to draw someone being trampled to death for a Tickle Me Elmo?

a4anner In reply to WonderDookie [2008-12-08 04:10:23 +0000 UTC]
Yes good luck cutting out the trees.
Oh no. I'd never choose to draw characters like Elmo. All the Elmo jokes have been done to death. And also I find him/ her annoying.
It WAS about shopping though. Think I've gone a little too religious however. I'll just send it to a very few people this year.

Good lord. I didn't even start on the trees tonight. I figure I'll procrastinate that bit until tomorrow evening.
Are you drawing people trampling each other over a Tickle Me Jesus? If not... then I think we just came up with a new drawing idea. (regardless of religiousness, you'd better send me one!)

Your parents will be happy with the background-free gift anyway.
Tickle Me Jesus? I imagine if anyone was brave enough to market that kinda toy, it would sound a lot like Val Kilmer. Which then would become a great gift for you wouldn't it? haha
Yeah I can send you the card. Unfinished and in digital format.

I'm almost done with the trees! Every time I sit down to work on them I get distracted! It's like the universe is trying to keep my from attaining my goal.
haha. I would probably have to add that toy to my collection of Bastardizations of Religion.
I'm still waiting for it.

Yeah. Well... The hand is looking better, but then I caught the snapped off end of a branch to the face today... which now looks much worse than my hand did. haha. Now I'm wondering how I'm going to hurt myself tomorrow.
Do I need to start belittling you to motivate you to get to work? Lazy... ass.
By the way.. I'm SO CLOSE to being finished. The background is done and now I just need to glue all the parts together. I'll send you a picture of the finished product tomorrow. I'm so excited to move on to a new project.

It was well worht the cut though. That piece looks really impressive. Do they even know you've been working on it? Or is it meant to be a surprise?
Urgh. Even belittling me isn't going to motivate me to finish it. Whenever I do get around to turning my pc on, that's the first thing I open. But it's left untouched till I turn it off. I might redraw it. I'm not happy with the drawing.

Working on the arcade machine! Unfortunately there's about 10 cm of snow on the ground this morning, so that might make it a little more difficult... and then we're going to go sledding!! So many opportunities to hurt myself.
They don't know I'm making it. So I'm really hoping they are surprised.
What if I tried bribing you?

a4anner In reply to WonderDookie [2008-12-15 07:17:06 +0000 UTC]
So how's the arcade machine looking?
Have you even started on it?
My Canadian friend is leaving this Friday to visit her oldies with her partner. And says she's going to be so broke due to the bad economy.
I till think she's lucky she's gonna have a proper holiday with her family in the snow!
Bribing? With what? - I'm intrigued.
Actually I needed to take my computer into my work (yes, I have a job now)and decided to just leave it there permanently. So unless I wanted to stay behind every night to finish my christmas card, I won't be able to get it finished this year. haha
I might get a new mac laptop though. This laptop is so old and slow...
