Every day I drive to work across Flint River bridge
A hundred yards from the spot where me and grandpa
fished
There's a piece of his old fruit stand on the side of
Sawmill Road
He'd be there peelin' peaches if it was twenty years
ago
And what I wouldn't give
To ride around in that old truck with him
If heaven wasn't so far away
I'd pack up the kids and go for the day
Introduce them to their grandpa
Watch 'em laugh at the way he talks
I'd find my long lost cousin John
The one we left back in Vietnam
Show him a picture of his daughter now
She's a doctor and he'd be proud
Then tell him we'd be back in a couple of days
In the rear view mirror we'd all watch 'em wave
Yeah, and losing them wouldn't be so hard to take
If heaven wasn't so far away
I'd hug all three of those girls we lost from the class

more time

Sit on a cloud and visit for a while
It'd do me good just to see them smile

So the week of finals my cat, my best friend, and my baby passed away. He had cancer and had gone into kidney failure and it was just heart breaking. My mom had put him down on that Monday but didn't tell me til Wednesday night what had happened. But since I was mid finals and getting home was gonna be horrible, she had decided she wasn't going to tell me til Friday when I was home. However, I found out before then and sadly with my no muse and slight depression from not having him around, it took me a bit to get something done for him. I'd done a few sketches to make into a piece but tonight when listening to the song that I posted the lyrics too, I couldn't help but chuckle; seeing as my cat was so obese and with the whole wings of an angel, I figured "they'd be too small for him cause they only make wings for normal sized cats." So...this is prolly how I figure he'd look trying to flap his fat butt up somewhere.

I dunno. It's pretty crappy looking. The anatomy and the pose is prolly all so very off.

But you know what? I don't care for this. It was just to get the message across that I miss him and that he's.......silly trying to flap up with tiny wings.
