Bday gift for the metaltastic Svartya
of her pretty Infernalis OCs, Svartya. Girl, he get's more and more pretty every time you redesign him 
Plus, he's fun to draw (even though it was real torture to draw all these scales -.-")Bg is a random mixture of red and blue and suddebnly looked like a clouded sky... weird things happen in Photoshop.

ohhh and that is a cool song from Hammerfall! i don't know much songs from them but i really liked this one! and also the lyrics are quite fit for the picture and Svartya himself! Β
awww im happy that you find Svartya fun to draw and a pretty character! I never felt so happy and satisfied how Svart looks like as i fell now! im happy that i finally got where i wanted at least hahahaha
And one of my favorite things about Svart now is that his scales,horns and spikes don't have an exactly pattern, like there is not a right number of horns and spikes on his head and shoulder and neither a exactly shape for them for example, it is just all very spiked and sharp!

Ah I already had the sketch finished a few days before your bday but somehow I was never really content with the shading. First I wanted to do a more blue greenish stuff, to highlight him and his red glowing bodyparts more, but then I decided to go with the red orange colour palette.
Well I think Hammerfall has a nice mixture of different styles in their songs, even though I do not like all of their songs... but hey, I have no band where I like all songs. In general I enjoy the voice of their frontsinger... and also have to thank them for providing Aaroks "Theme"song "Last man standing". Seriously, it's just as if it was made for him! xD
I know what you mean, it is hard to make a diffrence between a design, which look in order, because of a set number of spikes and such and one, which has so many scales and spikes, that you don't have to count them anymore. Sometimes the ordered one looks more ... empty.

oh but i do have some difficult as well when it comes to highlight a character with some other colors D:Β
a bluish always fit very well for the black and red of Svartya too but the actual colors are very pretty too i've always adored you soft shading style <3
ah yes i know very few songs of Hammerfall but i like when bands Β mix styles and even the thematic of their songs
ah yes, in the case of Svartya and Aarok you have more freedom to draw them as both don't have a right number of spikes and the tentacles for Arki and i think this makes a character more "free" for you to draw since you don't have to worry with every single spike..you just draw them XDΒ
