The light is fine on my desktop monitor, however if I look at it on my phone (A Galaxy S3, so no junkphone), the only thing I can see is the red parts of the dragons scales, and the text. Aarok is completely impossible to see as an example.

Aww It's little baby AAROKY! I thought at first Aarok and Rohn were the same age...Clearly I was wrong. The poses here are very nice. I love how your pages are always so detailed I would never be able to do the same thing

At first I wanted them to be at the same age, but soemhow I liked the idea of Rhon being the more experienced and older dragon. He's somewhat with 400 while Arki is only 260 so clearly some diffrences between them.
Thank you, well i'm a detailwhore xD it drives me nuts how the older pages look. Besides, I have to impress, since my comic isn't a fancomic, so ppl are not so attached to the characters like they are in fancomics.

Well, I like details as well in comics and all, but I am very aware that it slows down the finalisation of pages. So I made the choice: detail, or finishing it before I run out motivation, whiches has happened over 3 times already. I mean, I just read that Wierdhyena gave up on Feuriah's dawn, and I have the nagging feeling that other spyo comics are going to follow. So I really want to finish my own project, if detail has to go to do so, then it will.
All I want to do, is tell a story, it doesn't have to be of amazing quality. Later when I make professional comics that I actually wanna sell, I'll make them more detailed.

You got the point. I mean, look at my project, it hasn't been finished after 4 years, since it is soo much work, when you also draw other things and do not only focus on it.
She did?! Wow, considering that this was one of the reasons, why she became so famous here, that's pretty surprising. On the other side, she really hasn't drawn many pages since months and concentrates mostly on Skylanders works. After all, it's her own choice even though I really liked Weirds' concept of the old guardians and the current ones as children. ... maybe this also means that I finally might get my contest prize this year from her

Woah, that's old O_O I don't know how old spyro dragons become but that must be pretty old as well when you think about how old Malefor is. All dragons I designed myself entirely don't become that old. XD they become about 100-125 or so...
I know your project is still not finished, after 4 years, but as long as you still have the motivation to go on, that shouldn't be a problem.
But what if you don't....That's why I warn every single starting comic artists of the "danger" of running out of motivation. There already are too many unfinished comics around here. I only remember one spyro based comic getting finished and that was Doomdrao 's "Legend of Violet dawn/rise of darkness" And in that one the quality was less advanced but at least she had the balls to finish a project! Unlike 99% of the spyro comic artists!
So I prefer finishing something over quality, if you manage to finish a project with good quality, then even better! But be honest, how many fancomics have you seen that are of amazing quality and have gotten 100% finished? I bet you can count that on one hand, eh?
And I know it's Wierd's own choice if she wants to stop Feuriah's dawn, I saw it coming for months. And I find it such an awful shame! If you never work on a project, then you automaticly lose the motivation. She had good ideas and potential, but couldn't reach the finish line, like most of us cannot. I still wonder if I'll ever get to the finish line myself with my own project, I sure hope so. I don't wanna end up like the 99%

It's nothing compared how many others define their dragons age - I've seen some of them, who were a million years old and considered as teenager xD I guess, there were no real clues in the games, how old Spyro dragons can become, but your age cap sounds good to me.
Oh yes, I really want to finish it, since it means alot to me. I started to create most of this stuff since at the age of 14 and it grew up with me, new charas came, older ones vanished alot of clichee were deleted etc.. And it seems to inspire others, that's pretty cool for a fictional fantasy world of a little girl :3
Sure it is not as popular as most fancomics and never will be, but it is something that I created all by myself and I'm proud of it.
I agree with you about the comic making process, it is hard and takes alot of time, many people just dream of an epic story, start to draw a few pages and then get bored of the idea, not careing if the comic already has fans or not. I also wonder, why so less people draw small stories like 15 to 20 pages? Those are quick to finish and can be entertaining too, why always aiming for hundreds of pages?
Me too, I actually liked FD even if it was that hyped and all the stuff. Somehow, it made sense and has well thought characters in it, it's kinda sad, that she just reached the climax of it, the birth of the main chara and then suddenly stops. Well, maybe she writes a quick summary how Feuriahs story would continue

Nope, I now wait for uh... something like 5 years? I already got one sketch of the picture which absolutely was not after that, what I ordered, so she wanted to redraw it and that's all I got so far - and maybe the reason, why I rarely participate in contests. Somehow I won many prizes but never got them, the owners just switched accounts, never replied to me again and such... well that's what happens, when you are not popular enough to be taken serious, I doubt they would treat a SK or a CSAF like that. Pffha, let's see if I get it this year.Β Β

making your character millions of years old is plain ridiculous. Then just make them immortal, that's more or less the same then and makes more sence.
And I'm glad that you still wanna finish it. How long do you think it will become? As for my own story, Pure Light, it will go towards the 300 pages. and 15 chapters for sure. So the danger of running out of motivation is high. But right now I don't have any plans of stopping it. And you are right about the short stories! A nice little story can actually be done in 20 pages! The first comic I ever managed to finish, called Dreadzone Jackass, has 20 pages and is 100% DONE. I'm proud of the archievement, even though it's a little one ^^
I know it's not the best idea to go towards the 100 pages, my first story, Reborn Heroes, would have had 150-200 But it's not a good idea when you know how much time you might spend on ONE page and then that time x number of pages is almost scary!Β

I heard, that people whp do this sometimes whant to compensate own weaknesses, especially when the character represents themselves.
I think my comic will end in about 7 to 10 pages, but I will do a second chapter, since it still has many loose ends. And hoefully I wont need 4 years again to finish it xD

I think mayne people avoid doing short stories, since they just get inspired, start drawing but haven't thought about the end of the whole thing yet, this might also be the reason, why so many peole never finish their comics. They get inspired, start, get bored of it and stop it.
I guess that's a bit harsh. She certainly is sometimes slow and does much personal art, but I also often tend to do this. Sure at some time I was a bit upset to see, that she was not working on my art, but doin all other sort of things. But on the other hand, she is a professional artist, who earns her money with art. So when art is your job, I sometimes would also be bored to draw in my freetime too. And I doubt, that she didn't do my work, since I am not as popular is others, that would be a bit paranoid of myself xD
Well and she said, she'll do it and I trust her in this, even if it takes her five years. Oh and it has one advantage, her artstyle is way better now, so it was defiantly be worth to wait. Β Β

Short stories are better if you want to make detailed work. But for the long ones....small pages, not much detail, and not many panels is the best thing...
And what I say might be harsh sometimes but it's true nevertheless. I can understand it takes up to 6 months to finish something. But having it drag on 5 years and just keeping yourself busy with personal stuff...I see that as a lack of respect and inability to set priorities. Call me harsh.

I never thought about that, but yes that's totally true. I once read a TLK comic and the creator posted 1-2 pages every day and they were really simple in drawing but had hundereds of faves. The story was nice and well TLKbonus xD
Sure, I also would've loved to get it earlier but hey, it is better then all the others, who owe me prizes and never did them. Werid is someone you can talk to and she replies, when you write her a note. All the others blocked me, never replied or costantly changed accounts, so that I lost em over the time. And I never was rude or unfriendly to them...
I also still had a lot of old works from years ago to finish, so i have no right to critize her for something that I do too

Yes... after nearly 50 pages ^^. But it was way too obvious, that he somehow would stumble over little Aarok.
And I'm bad in drawing younglings, they alwasy look chubby.
