Description
Half Pint is giving Gizmo a run for his money if you'll pardon the horribly planned out pun. XDI need to thank the ingenious for the idea that Half Pint would mistake Ratchet as her Daddy, Hijak because they're both the same model. The autobot base is weird enough territory for her, she could easily assume, Daddy'd gotten a new paint job.
That's the last I've got of Half Pint's time with the Abots. But there's more to her adventure so stay tuned!

Wonderfully cute. I don't think it will end well, though.

I'm not sure whether to go 'Awwww' or laugh or be worried Either way once Half pint catches Ratchet he aint gonna be very happy with Gizmo I'm sure
I like the panels actually it looks really cool Also love their expressions, especially Gizmo
But for shading I cant really tell for Half Pint
But other than that is is just plain awsome

*sigh* For some reason, it's very hard to see Half Pint's shading. It happens to me all the time. I think I'm just going to have to start making a more drastic color difference for that specfic blue so you can see it along with the rest of the shading.
Thanks for the tipoff!

Well I understand what ya mean Half Pint has a light colour scheme and sometimes if you shade something of a light colour too dark it sometimes don't look right
Aw no problem <3

Awwwwwww! Half pint is adorable!!! I love it! Very nice diversity of expressions and body positions. You really feel the momentum with half-pint and her pursuer and I get the feeling there is going to be a collision all to soon. hehe. I like the layout of the whole thing to. Looks very comicbook like and it's really unique. Great job! The only critque I really have is Half-pints shadow. I can't put my finger on it, but something looks off. Like the others, their shadows have forms so maybe it's that? Hers just kinda looks like it's there just as a smudge and not really a shadow? I'm not completely sure. Anyways. Awesome awesome job!

Thanks, girlie! Yeah, Half Pint's shadow gave me some trouble. I'll keep playing with it. I'm so glad you liked the comic though! Makes me super happy!

I would "AWWWWWW" but that would be unoriginal
Of all the comics you updated for Half Pint's Autobot adventures - no, I'm gonna go with "of all the comics I've seen you make - this one has the STRONGEST use of panels in my mind. It would have been easy to make this just a straightforward picture but, by breaking it up, I think you've really ... dunno. Made it more interesting. I could go all aftsy fartsy in my explination of why, but I don't think ANYONE wants that~!
Gizmo looks that much scrawnier when you compare him to Half Pint and Ratchet.
Seriously, I love the panel layout. Especially the fact that Gizmos' hands are in a different panel than his body.
The different optic colors are nice. I do like that you don't just pick a generibot blue and genericon red for everyone.
The little details in the background are nice for setting up the location without distracting form the characters.
I think EVERYONE knows the feeling of thinking you've spotted your mama or daddy only to realize they are a stranger in similar clothes.
You've got a good range of colors in this comic. Usually things feel kind of "pastel" with your pallet. However, I think you've done a really nice job grabbing a variety of colors and creating contrast in that way.
Great job, Aaron!

*likes artsy-fartsy but will hit you up for that in person*
Half Pint is a chubby bunny. But I was actually worried I made Gizmo's thighs too big.
Turns out several people have done the whole 'Oops I thought you were someone else' thing. Thanks for the outstanding idea, Insanity. T'was perfect!

D'awwwwww!!! She's an adorable little fish outta water, isn't she? Poor kid's gonna be sparkbroken when she finds out this is NOT her daddy. However, she may find Ratchet has possibly the closest thing to 'Con sensibilities among the Autobots when she smacks him in the jaw for being Not The Daddy. XDDD

LOL! I never thought of that, but now that you mention it, Half Pint would deal a punch for Ratchet's mistake of NOT being her Daddy. Gizmo will be sure to wisk her away to a safe zone FAR away fom Ratchet directly after that though. Giz fears for his next check-up. XD

Something tells me it is a VERY good thing for all Autobots involved that Oblivion just got back to the base now and still hasn't been told that she's been kidnapped. Hopefully for them, she'll be back before he finds out.
Anyway, something about the way you drew Gizmo is nagging at me. The wing blades, maybe? They seems to be not quite right for some reason...

She'll be back tonight!! (You wanna come to the recroom for old times sake? )
As for Gizmo, his "wings" is actually a glider (I REALLY need to post his ref. Hopefully that part of him will make more sense then)

If this was an average hallway, the lights would be above, causing all simplified shadow to be small and directly below, nice.
But I cannot see their arm shadows, and the fact that their knee joints are immovable is a bit strange, especially half pint's.although they might just be knee pad-like devices,so not much worry over that.
Coloring-it's always a simple,fresh way to bring life to a picture,your outlining,along with a few colors,
make me believe this was accomplished by using a simple Paint program.
The outlining is slightly shaky and thick, but as it gives bolder definition,it's a two-way thing.
overall, everything seems slightly out of proportion, like the fact I sometimes can't tell whether
Half Pint's pigtails are Two dimensional,or slightly thicker.
I've always enjoyed how Half Pint's Optics were a slightly pinkish color, instead of the usual deep red.
Lastly, the expressions were extremely fascinating, although ratchet's expression seems to be focused on his paperwork, instead of the noise behind him.
May.

As always, thank you, May, for your input on my work. It's great to have someone tell it to me straight.
As far as knees go, I designed Half Pint with the intention of allowing her to move all joints like a human (knees included). Unfortunately I'm usually too lazy to draw in details that prove this is possible. Gizmo's details like that are also left out. From watchign other cartoonists and artists I did begin to assume that transformers can move like humans.
I am a bit confused about the coloring comment. Do you mean i should color my outlines? ...and do you have any more of an explanation why my coloring looks so rudimentary so that I can attempt to imporve it?
Inking is the bane of my existence and I need to play with the brush tool for a few hours.
As for Half Pint's pigtails...that's just my bad. I forget to add the 3D-ness in a lot. :blushing: But thank you for noticing Half Pint's eyes. The truth is she just looks EVIL and weird with the dark red, so the pink was really just to keep her cute.
-Aaron
P.S. Ratchet's eyes frustrated me to now end, I'll go back and see if there's any more i can do.

Your colors are a simple cartoon style, fun to look at and easy to use.
yet it acts as a two-edged sword,
being so simple.
perhaps practicing texture would liven things up,give it some fun qualities, like shine,or even color shading.
How your transformers move is all up to you,as you've constructed them.
But visible joints are fine,as well.
Detail is something that needs to be explored.
perhaps a single picture of a under-drawn character with unaccustomed surroundings.
This might seem to go along with popular goings, but try clothes,or'tatto'symbols.
They're difficult to put on a transformer, and in full detail, the outward image is slightly disturbing, yet amusing.
(perhaps it's another reason why artists like doing it so much?...)
Wires are another way to practice fine detail, they are quite fun to play with,if I may say so.
and I always like those small, seemingly unnoticeable details.
May.
P.S-perhaps sight mouth opening with optic ridges switched?
and stopping would set of the mood finely.

Thanks for all the help, May.
I suppose the reason I stick in the cartoon style is because it's my favorite from a visual stanpoint, but I do plan to start expirementing in other mediums and styles so hopefully I'll be able to add more details in there.

there are lots of different styles, but the main thing is,maintaining a comfortable, original style.
with the cuteness of your art, that shouldn't be too hard.
