Description
A unique yet disappointing remake of a classic masterpiece, but it is still a childhood favourite of mine and I believe it could be improved on and these are 20 ways I would do it. I just feel there are some ways to make this a true retelling of the classic giant monster. I love the music, the Creature's controversial design and especially the visual effects. I can even excuse the Creature not having an atomic breath, but why did the movie have to make that terrible hatchling scene. Anyhow, this is how I would fix it:
    1. Add a darker and more depressing tone like in the original movie.
    2. Make it a reboot sequel of the original movie.
    3. Make the Creature smarter and more sympathetic.
    4. Rename the title Godzilla to its original name “Gojira”.
    5. Give the Creature an evolutionary phase like in “Shin Godzilla”.
    6. Make the military more understanding of the Creature’s behaviour.
    7. Add descendent of Dr. Serizawa.
    8. Give Nick and the Creature a friendship.
    9. Make the Mayor the main villain due to corruption.
    10. Add a plot twist where we learn the Creature isn’t Godzilla.
    11. Remove needless Hatchling scene.
    12. Give the movie an “The Iron Giant” feel.
    13. Let the Creature live in the end.
    14. Give the Creature a pronounced atomic breath.
    15. Have the Creature survive weapons worse than nuclear bombs.
    16. Recreate scene of a girl crying over her dead mother.
    17. Make him vegetarian because Iguanas eat plants.
    18. Give the Creature its own unique roar/bellow.
    19. Add a final scene of King Ghidorah’s construction.

    20. Have the soundtrack by James Newton Howard instead.
