I have a question! Do you check your measurements to make sure the silhouette is accurate before proceeding?

Hey, thats a good question.
I mainly measure it as I go... it may not always be perfect before i proceed with the painting but I aim to get it close enough to work with. When i begin working with with the silhouette i am focusing on the main shape of the bird as well as the negative spaces around it to get the best measurements. I'll then give it an eye check before moving on to painting inside the silhouette.

Thank you for this! Lovely drawing - the feathers in particular are simply amazing. Seeing the process is also very helpful in visualizing how it all comes together.
