I'm interested in what your process is. That's an amazing portrait, with the trasnlucency of elderly skin.

Β Kind of scared me, I thought it was the process of an elderly woman withering, starting from bottom right. XD

I love this kind of work, it shows your knowledge of realism while still being expressive. I think this skill is harder to achieve than just painting everything as it is. You have definitely nailed it.

Perfection, in my humble opinion. That hair looks so real and I can almost feel the skin wrinkles of that beautiful old woman.

Hey, just a little question, when you have a photo reference, do you use those proportions 1:1 in your painting (like the actual proportions of the model in the picture) or are you enlargening them, like a comparative measurement.

Its a comparative measure for the most part yeahhh. Ill have a thumbnail window open at around half the size as my reference and then on my cintiq ill be working much larger. So i work both smaller and larger than my reference image.

I'm finding stages 2 and 3 a little on the creepy side :S The end result is stunning I love how you made the hair look so soft and wispy and the eyes are lovely.Β Well done!
