Back to self Ponidox world.I feel like somewhere this fell apart, probably in the shading process. I did some things to fix it which helped greatly, but I'm not convinced. I'm also still not confident in drawing chicks.

I do like how the distant objects fade into lighter tones.

Before I had the outlines lightened even. But in my fuss over how that and the glare on the mirror glass (which was painted into the outlines) I removed that when I swapped out to the old-outline where I hadn't tried to streak it with extra attempts at lighting effects.

Maybe the streaks could be created by using rectangular shapes to define an area where a white gradient is applied. That way they have hard edges but fade at either end.

I could do that.
This second pass through I opted to throw down some circles of a lighter color on their own layer on top of the rest, stretched them out and set to a lighter blend mode to work as the light reflection. I felt it was subtle enough to work without be as obtrusive and harsh as the old style was. But the gradient is something to think about.
