This is not about double standards, this is my considerations for things that are popular that also get hate and the internet sadly popularizes it, which it pisses me off.I know, people love shows like MLP, Gravity Falls, Steven Universe, Star vs. the Forces of Evil, Wander Over Yonder, etc., but there is most people who don't like the series because of the things that they hate about it that makes them hate it, alongside the fandom making lewd things, shipping and or the fandom's behavior.
I love popular cartoons, as much as the good IMO "shitty" cartoons like Breadwinners, a little bit of Modern Spongebob, Total Drama (even though World Tour is shit), Fish Hooks, Almost Naked Animals, and others, except The Problem Solverz, Mr. Pickles, Secret Mountain Fort Awesome, Uncle Grandpa, and Teen Titans Go! (even tho i don't hate TTG, but I don't like it either)
It's not just shitty cartoons that get hated, It's also popular cartoons, even if they had more love. All things are imperfect

Rick and Morty is not for kids. so it gets more respect than say........Gravity Falls

one thing you need to know is that Rick and Morty is made to be uncomparable to those shows, and be more comparable to shows like AMC'sΒ Breaking Bad or Showtime's Dexter, but with a more comedic tone.
