Description
The coloured version of "Banished ".This was in fact the very first of my drawings that I coloured properly in Photoshop after acquiring my tablet, finished around last Christmas. Even though it took me ages to finish the actual pencil piece in the first place, there were so many painful hours involved in the trial-and-error process of colouring that I'm wondering whether I should actually place it under the "digital art" category.. And once again, despite all the hours put into the colouring job, I actually prefer my original b/w version.
Pencil, Photoshop, Wacom tablet.

Jee, Caranthir with dark skin. Finally. And Celeg with dark dair. Sorry, I'm such a bitch when it comes to the Eldarin genetics and colors. XD
Oh, and Curufin looks like a Disney villain.
*fave*

7 dirty looks... And I thought the people at school glared evily when I entered a room. Are the two on the right twins or something? They look like it... *has never read/seen Tolkien* Great picture, all of them look different, but the same in some ways.

Maedhros sleeve reminds me of Boromir from the movie. I love BoBo beautiful earthy colors you have used here!

Thanks! Yeah, I like desaturated colour schemes..
Oh, I hadn't thought about that, but I did really li,ke the outfit they designed for Boromir in the movie.. it was picture perfect (only missing the "collar of silver set with a white stone" but what the heck) and Sean Bean did an incredible job - he's such a great actor. He doesn't really look much like I imagine Boromir at all, but I still have to admire his performance!

Pretty! Although I prefer the b/w-version as well. I think it fits better, although I can't actually explain why.

Thanks! Yeah.. i don't know what it is, but I usually always like my works more in b/w as well.. it probably means I just haven't found the right way to colour yet -- I need to experiment more.

Well, I generally prefer b/w-artwork for mythological themes and since it's very strongly influenced my mythology, also for Tolkien artwork.
Therefore, it has nothing to do with your colouring skills! They're really good actually. But I still prefer b/w-artwork sometimes.

And you didn't send it to Seven in '07
Haven't seen the b&w yet, but this I guess you've lost some details in colouring - some parts are very pale/blurred. Did you use colour layer or multiply? Yet each brother's characteristics is visible. Maglor and curufin win here

Thanks! ... What's Seven in ยด07?
This was really complicated since I was experimenting with the colouring.. there're about 10 layers for the colour and shading and highlights.. I used both color and multiply as well as screen.. no wonder it looks a mess!
