Description Ok.. i hear you asking: "What's the deal with all these helmets, what's his problem?" Well, i don't know.. and while i've deemed myself too busy to do any finished illustrations it seems i still keep sketching away stuff like this. I hope i've got the helmets out of my system now.. Bear with me.

So, just a sketch again; a cavalry captain of the House of Fingolfin (i suppose it could also be Gwindor during the Nirnaeth), Tuor at Vinyamar, FΓ«anor and some shield scribbles. 2B pencil.

Me too.. or, in all honesty.. i rather bought them a lot, especially around 15 years ago. Most of my models remain unpainted and I never had time to play many games with them..

hah i played HE but i refer playing skaven army or vampire counts - those to army rocks!

and doesen't had time too to paint all my figures .. but i have a lot fun time playing them

I had HE and Empire armies, but like I said, never played much. I was more into painting, but that was so slow.. Later I got more into 40k and bought DA and SoB armies, but the same story applies there..

The only GW game I've ever played a lot is Necromunda.. we even had a campaign running for a while just a couple of years ago after a looong break. It's a great game since it's small-scale, quick to play, has the experience aspect to it and really doesn't require an inhuman effort to get all your models painted.. and it's really fun to make all the conversions and such!

Thanks! Well, i know the design looks better in side view than in front view.. But here's a reason for those shapes: i wanted to keep the helmets more or less functional (so those ridges and bends are needed), and the diamond shaped plate is also ideal for the heraldry (elven heraldry is based on a diamond shape).

FΓ«anor's helmet is beautiful! I could never imagine that 'red tail' to not think it's funny. Now I know it's not funny at all. Very noble pattern
You need to draw the 'high' helmets of Gondolin. For some reason I see old German helmets when I think of them - I mean German from ... Quite old, sorry, I am not thinking at the moment. And I don't know how to translate the name Germany had in the past.

Thank you. I started thinking something like Roman helmets for FΓ«anor and his sons after ~Succubus1982 commented on my first helmet designs.. And damn you for mentioning Gondolin -- now i think i'll have to draw more helmets still!

Yes, more helmets please!!! Roman helmets sounds nice - I like the whole outfit Arthur on latest King Arthur had - the one when Arthur is Roman eoldier. Fantastic black - leather combained with metal I guess - armor If you seen the movie - the scene when he stays alone in fort with a banner in hand and waiting for Saxons on the hill - it's for me perfect FΓ«anor preparing to roide for battle.
Ha, I need to see again this movie which people were grumbling on so hard. The woods and armors were really nice

No, i haven't seen the movie, but some promo shots i have seen.. The armour in those does look fantastic. And these Roman style plumes seem to suit the FΓ«anorean helms, i think.

..And just look what you did now: you made me draw even more helmets!

Gah, I loooove drawing armour... It always takes me forever to think up helmet and boot designs though... pauldrons are fun, and pretty easy... greaves can be a pain, but are fun.
I love these helmets, you designed them, yes? Very nice!
