One of those moments i always found so interesting. Those rare occasions the x men work with their enemies, and Kurt and Mystique exchange a few words regarding the mission. Mystique always seems so cold and careless to him, but there must be more behind that mask of hers when around her son. And Kurt must feel a bit pained at being around the mother who abandoned him. Though neither will say it.So much more to those small moments around each other than whats on the surface.
At least I like to think so. Its frustrating to think that mystique really DOSNT care for Kurt at all. HES YOUR BABEH. GIV HIM LOVES FOR GODS SAKE.
this is a mix of x men styles i guess. I usually follow the X men evolution story line a bit more, but i dont like Mystique much in that series, hence why she is drawn more like the movie.

Their relationship makes more sense in the comics, since she married with a powerful mutant and when she gave birth to Kurt many ppl started labeling them as the family of the devil, thus making Mystique abandon her child.

Kurt's face is just so cute. He's like, "I don't know what I want to do... I know this lady, she dropped me down a waterfall. >:" And Mystique's just like, "...yeah, whatevs. >>;"
But yes, I know that's not what's going on. But it's what goes through my head. xD;

This is a great picture. I really like how you combined the movie and Evolution designs. I really love how you did Kurt's hair here. I agree I don't like Evolution Mystique much.
Their expressions are really great I really love the emotions you can see in them. And the coloring is fantastic, I really like the shades you used. ]:3

a story? well... its based off some daydreams of of mine where they have to work with the brother hood, then when kurt and mystique are working together they end up running into an old laboratory where mystique recognizes it as the place where kurt was experimented on as a baby (kinda taken from an episode of evolution where you see he was experimented on) and em... some dramatic turmoil i guess. not really a clear story line, but thats what i was thinking i guess haha hope thats what you were looking for. XD

hahaha i know!! I found out in xmen evolution. I hope if/when they make a new movie they will explain it or something. both kurts mom and dad would be in it if the story line follows the First class movie. (kurts dad is azazel. the red dude)

OFMG YUS. I'm pretty sure they will be continuing it. AT first I wanted them to go back to the present-day story and clean up the mess they made with the 3rd movie, But it seems more likely to continue with first class. All I can say is I can't wait

I also hate how cruel she is to him, I mean really....Who throws their baby off a cliff.....
But...If you ever want to see some mother/son bonding between them, i suggest reading the Apocolypse age comics.

Or the X-men: Forever comics. It's not the best comic but there are a lot of Kurt/Rogue/Mystique family moments.

It's really well drawn. And you're right, she's bitchy to treat him like an air, but he had good family... maybe they weren't his real parents, but the real family. (I'm talking about evolution...)

Have you seen comic "what If mystique raised nightcralwer?" she gave him name Michael and kept him lock on the attic Q^Q When he tried to get away, he was killed by Mystique's team....
