True, but as skills improve with practice older stuff tends to get forgotten or doesn't seem as good. Plus I don't really get comments at all anymore.
I was never a Gisborne fan tbh! (I made this for someone.) But I know so many people love him.

I don't get any comments either. I think it's a real problem on DA. The people with the most views are rewarded with even more views while starting artists get swept under the rug.
Oh yes, I'm a fan. Even with his black eyeliner. It's the voice, the slight northern accent and I can't pretend his looks don't help. Haha

Yeah well it's partly my fault for rarely posting anything (on any platform) but yeah I do find it's hard to get people to see things no matter what groups they are submitted into or what tags I use. Or at least to see them and interact in some way so I know they see them! Meanwhile someone posts something that took 2 mins and gets loads of comments etc.
Haha I think the looks did it for everyone that's a fan.

I agree with you though I would like to say that your last statement is a dangerous one. You cannot tell how much time someone put into their artwork (not always anyway). A "2 min piece" might actually be someone's first foray into the art world.
I say dangerous because I was once a part of Elfwood (yes I'm that old haha). They eventually put up a network, a snare of moderators that had the power to decide what was art and what wasn't. They didn't allow talk back or even questions about their decisions, sometimes resulting in a ban from the site, black listing any new art from an artist or even online bullying.
I think that the internet and social media has made us lazy. We automatically get bombarded by new material without even having to click on something.
I'm currently trying to make a difference by actively commenting on artwork I like our where there might be potential. It's been a bit of a thankless endeavour so far, but I really think that if we change the way we act online it might start a ripple effect.

I literally meant posted a line of text that doesn't make sense and they wrote when they were drunk sort of thing... I literally mean it took them 2 mins (if that) - also anything that's someone's "first foray into the art world" isn't gonna be posted by an account that is already super popular which is the problem that was being discussed.

Ah, true. Popularity makes you lazy I guess. It's a power thingπ

Then I've skipped the popular part and gone straight to lazy. I guess it's easier that way.
