Hello! So recently I've visited the art and craft store in my area, Michael's Craft Store. I visited Michael's Craft Store so I could get the prices of the professional materials so I could draw more like a professional artist and less like a hobbyist who I-I use the same materials I use for school for my art. I feel so freakin poor...

Okay. So I got the prices of all the materials I need and in total including the tax I got $125.64. Problem is...I don't have $125.64. Heck! I don't even have a $1.00!

This is where I need help. I'm only 14 years old so I can't get a job yet so does anybody have any ideas on how I could get money. Please don't say "Chores" because I don't get allowance anyway. So please if you have any ideas please write them below in comments. I'd much appreciate it!

Oh yes: This is the list of materials I need I'm saving up for:

●Strathmore Sketch Book

●Faber-Castell Colour Pencil Starter Kit

●Graphite Set On The Go

●9×12 Portfolio

●100 Things Every Artist Should Know (A book with tips in it)

●Figure It Out (Another Book that helps with drawing human poses(I'm still amateur in this section of human anatomy so I need a book to help))

A few tips to earn money is either recycle cans (yea sounds icky but hey that how I'm able to pay my phone bill xD) anyways you could babysit or have a garage sale. Hopefully this helps you :3

I always did a lot of babysitting when I was that age to try and earn money, but if that's not an option, the only thing I can really think of is mowing lawns and that kind of odd job stuff?

At any rate, don't get too hung up on the materials (though its always awesome to have cool stuff to make art with) you'll keep improving as long as you practice, even if you just use regular school quality pencils. As far as books, I'd check out your local library, and of course, DA has tons of tutorials as does the rest of the internet that you can use until you can afford the books you want
