Haaaaaaaaaappy birthday, Shiny! I hope it was fun. Or at least pleasant. 8DIt's been pretty sweet being able to call you my friend, and seeing all the cool content you've produced over the years (and how weird is it that I can SAY "years", wow, time really runs). Hope you like this!Β
This is Jay and his alien kids, Meep and Mopp, from Fantastic Mr. Walker , for anyone who may not know! They're ... cute. They're so cute. Ggah. Give me cavities already. (Also let Jay have a break dang it the latest chapters have not been kind to him)
I had fun with the aliens! Ya kept mentioning cuttlefish so I drew them with actual cuttlefish patterns. ^^ I think I did a decent job with them. And yeah, I know, water and bubbles don't really fit FMW's theme, but ... they're based off of water creatures ... and it was an easy background to do ...Β

Yeah I'm super-pleased with this design for him; I agree it's cute!! Took me a while to find good designs for the ninja and with some of them I'm still not there yet (cough KAI cough smaller cough Zane)
I referenced actual cuttlefish for those patterns. :3 AND YES THEY ARE SLIGHTLY TRANSPARENT YOU'RE THE FIRST ONE TO NOTICE
Yep, textured brush!! I don't even know what I'm doing, half the time; I just pick a brush and hope for the best ahaha. It worked out with the lighting, though!

Actually very cuttlefish-y with the texture and all. Cuttlefish look really cool in nature, too. Some change colour to communicate.

Heh, not really. Brave Wilderness is ... wild, because half the videos are him being really excited about animals, or there's cute animals, and others like the bite and sting videos, where he purposefully gets himself hurtΒ for the sake of educational value are ... oof. Kinda hard to watch. But I do anyway. P:

I used to watch something like this as a kid, where some animal filmer ran around tracking down all sorts of animals, he was always really enthusiastic about them, too, but he also got stung by insects or bitten by spiders occasionally. I don't think he did it on purpose, or maybe looking back, he did... or he was clumsy or not very careful. It seemed to happen fairly frequently. ^^

Yeah, that's how things go. All of my friends ended up taking different paths after school, not everyone kept in touch, but some of us always stayed in contact afterwards, via internet and meetups, and I think it's important. It seems it's easier making friends in school or university than at work and the like, and it's nice to have some people that have been with you for a long while.

Jay is kyoot andΒ I will go to the ends of the earth for him. But yeah!! His eyes. Fun story, I've been debating whether I want them to be blue or brown forever, so just ... both! Heterochromia! Best of both worlds!! Also really like when I draw them well enough to add cool detail to the irises.
