Finalversion for the CGBoost challenge
I saw the winning entries for the previous challenge "Cute Warrior" and I wanted to create characters because it's outside my comfort zone. (I've noticed that I'm saying this very often, is there anything I'm very comfortable with? XD)
It took me a lot of time, practically the whole past 3 days non-stop, it was challenging and interesting. I'm happy with the character designs and how it turned out
also took inspiration from some lectures and youtube reviews I've seen in the past about the Rockstar Games universes, especially the GTA and RDR universes, and how they created believable worlds that feel like they can exist even with their absurdities. While game and level design is a very different matter, I still found it a bit helpful from the beginning. I detailed as much as I could, even for off-screen elements that reflect or cast shadows on the scene (but with the time constraint in mind, so I had to find the balance and not model any unnecessary elements)
The creation process was straightforward for the most part, but I spent a lot of time on the lights and composition trying to make it as I liked it. Even though the scene fits on the GPU, I still had a lot crashes and out-of-memory errors during the build process as I used a lot of fur and highpoly models and I didn't have enough RAM. "Time for another hardware upgrade", says Abdou for the 4th time in 6 months lol

Cute! 
In your render setup, are you using both of your render options (CPU & 1060)? Also, did you try rendering with Eevee engine, or just Cycles?

I only used the GPU because when I also enable the CPU it gets pretty hot even for the GPU and the motherboard with all the heat dissipated from it. (I have a Ryzen 5 1600x, also it's pretty hot where I live). There's only a 25% increase in performance, so I prefer keeping my system a bit cooler for now lol
Eevee is not that good here with all the effects and bounces and the fur and I didn't have time to do everything properly to limit the artefacts, so I just used cycles

J'aime bien le fait que tu aies mis le vélo part terre plutôt debout, ça laisse imaginer que l'enfant était trop pressé d'avoir une glace pour le garer soigneusement.
Autre petit détail que j'aime bien, la position de sa patte arrière droite. C'est bête mais je trouve ça super mignon. xD
Sinon, le mélange des couleurs bleu-vert et orange me semble être un bon choix.
J'ai vu qu'il y avait beaucoup de participations au concours, mais j'espère que tu vas gagner quelque chose ! Bonne chance ( )

Je suis content que t'as remarqué ces petits détails, c'est exactement la scene que j'avais imaginé. Meme chose pour ça patte, j'ai pensé que ça serait plus mignon et que ça va donne l'impression qu'il encore plus pressé xD
J'avais essayé plusieurs combinaisons, mais c'est celle-ci que j'ai préféré. Il faut que je travaille un peu plus sur les couleurs et l'éclairage car c'était la partie qui a pris le plus de temps x)
Oui il y a souvent une centaines de participants dans ce councours (ahah, oui j'aurais besoin de chance)

I really liked how the little lizard needs to stand on its toes to see Pugby.
The only thing missing are ice cream cones, but I think the scene was already quite time-demanding.

I'm glad you do! Originally I made him appear pushing the jar of money with his right hand but it looked weird. I liked the idea that he was short and standing on his toes because it looked less "staged", so I left it
Yeah, I didn't know how to display them without making it look forced and unnatural, so I actually didn't do it at all despite our not needing more than 10-15 minutes to make

I thought that having ice cream cones on a pile at the front was a very normal thing for ice cream shops (specially because the customer can choose the type).
Would it look weird if you placed them next to the cash register?

Well my idea was that the "drive through" window was just an extra and the ice cream machines were going to be inside (the dark blocks on the right)
It doesn't make a lot of sense to make the cones very far from the machines when most of them have the holder embedded in them in this case, and generally I don't feel like I have to tell/show all the part of a story. The cones are not visible, but so is 80% of the shop and they shouldn't feel like they're not absent from the scene, only not visible
and that cash register needed more work like posters or stickers on the glass or something, but I didn't have time for that

Oh, ok, maybe we are used to different ice cream shops.
In the ones I went to in Europe you generally have the cones up front, and the shop assistant picks the ice cream with a spoon, instead of having it poured out of a machine.
So in your case it makes sense no to have visible cones.

Well, I don't think it's really weird, It's just more delicious when it's too hot. Here however it's a bit more like a "luxury" due to the economy, the demand is only high enough to be interesting for shops to offer them (and manufacturers to make them) during spring and summer days, and even then it's by small quantities

For me, the pug's face is more like "srsly, kid? this may not even enough to buy the cheapest cone here..." lol
Anyway, great final render! Hope you get placed! Well, it's closed now, but for an after-contest idea maybe if those popsicle props were glowing esp that big one on the right (as lamps/neon etc.) it can be more attractive.
My idea was making ice cream airship/spaceship or something like that but then got too busy with the other contest, lol. Gonna wait for next month topic.
