I am not sure what people find so difficult about Photoshop. The trick is just to use it and try everything.

thanks, and yes i used a tablet.

Not having they work right in front of you has always felt uncomfortable, and all the effects and doodads intimidate me, hopefully that will change soon. Im pretty computer stupid anyway.

I do like to draw on paper, but digital art has so much to offer. The Undo command will become your best friend. I find myself searching for it when I make a mistake on my pencil drawings lol. That is how pathetic I am. And plus layers help. Make use of layers! They will allow you to accomplish so much.
