This is how all those other Emoticorporations make their emotes. How sad
Here at =Abfc co. we make all of our emotes by hand (or cursor, for all intensive purposes) and with love.
Also... These bastards stole my shading recipe!!!!!
THIS TOOK FOR-FUCKING-EVAR!!!!
Time spent on:
Thinking it all through: 40 minutes
Pixeling the layers and parts: 1.5 hours
Animating: 2 hours
conveyor belts are a pain in the ass to pixel.. My original idea was to have them constantly going, but it would've been WAY too much work...

I really like this one... The process depicted and the general idea, as well!
Starting with that circle was a neat thought, and the airbrushing of the color and shading looked great, and seems to go very smoothly.
I like the conveyors not going constantly, first of all that's more energy-efficient >.> but second it highlights the action on the emote, not the scene which is good.
The only thing that seemed missing were eyes... I know emotes have a billion expressions (this being the point...), but perhaps dots for eyes might make the emote seem more complete as it is shipped off to deviantART?
Then again, if the point is that it is NOT complete, but rather a base template upon which many emotes can be created, well then ignore the previous comment, as it's irrelevant.
I can see this both ways, so this was less of a critique point and more of a general comment/thought.

The emote doesn't have eyes intentionally. Upon careful reading of the Artist's comment you'd find that this is the creation of other, more incompetent emoticonists

Ahh, I see. The carbon-copy emote, yes? I had read that part of the comment, and figured the assembly-line plot was the most of this, but the lack of expression (so to speak) in the emote brings this to another, deeper level.
