I often use different programs in my work, depending on what effect I want to create in the painting.
Corel Painter, for example, is a program I often use in conjunction with Photoshop. While Photoshop is excellent for many things, including painting, Painter has a far better toolset for creating traditional looking art (ie art produced on a canvas). The program enables you to mix and blend colours on the palette or on the canvas itself rather than just colour picking bits off a colour wheel, and the range of traditional effects you can create this way is quite staggering. I therefore use Painter to "paint" the image, and then do the touching up and colour correction etc in Photoshop. If you're still confused as to why I prefer using Painter, download the free trial from here: [link]

Well you can do a hell of a lot of stuff with Photoshop tbh, I just happen to prefer the way Painter handles it! You're welcome!

I think you have discovered what a warlock truly is, but i think you could have done a bit better on the armor type. Still awesome.

Ooooh, finished, w00t! This is fantastic, I love how the blue glow reflects off the armour. Locks should get to wear plate, even if only for the look : ) Proper evil and very very cool!
I want that sword, anything that pretty must have great stats.

awesome! i know what you mean about ahriman but hey, the helmet is just too cool not to use
is this intentionally 40k related or a random mind-manifestation?

It was an accident really, I happened upon a picture of Ahriman and was like "I seem to have ripped him off...". It was mostly inspired by the ridiculous amount of WOW I've been playing!

Shiny, shiny!
Looks kick ass dove face. Looks inked, traditionally inked. Plus it, to ma, it looks like it belongs on a Lovecraft novel.
*count the number of times I use 'looks' and x by a prime number and you'll probably be close to the amount of drinks I've had by this point. Apparently when I've had something to drink my vocabulary dwindles down to nothing ¬_¬*

Looks like something that walked out from teh warhammer 40k universe, which is a compliment : )
The colors, the background lightning and the skulls look awesome.
The lineart of the warlock is great also, but I find him too clean for my taste, a little dripping blood, smudge, scars and sratces on his armor would make him even more eviler : D
I don't really like that the lightning on his staff hides away the details and form of the head of the staff.
And before I forget, the details on the sword look stunning, but if they had glown a bit brighter they would look even better : )
