Well I WAS gonna compliment the new shading style, but since it's HORRIBLE, then mebbe I shouldn't. No, seriously, there are two intensities of light in this picture: the blue light from the outside of the cave is strong, but cold- the yellow from the fire is warm, but fire produces more heat than light. This picture demonstrates the two very well. The fire looks a little off- can't put my finger on it, but just something about the actual fire seems off. The light bouncing off the texture of the cave wall gives it more dimension and places the perspective, and the fabrics don't appear to be overly drapey, as well they shouldn't. Good job.

I forgot to add some sparks for the fire to make it look more "realistic". Ha. I remember to put it in the sketch, maybe I forgot to put it in the final piece.
And I CANNOT color fabric, there's tutorials for how to draw it but not how to color it.

It's wonderful if you ask me!! I saw the wip and knew I couldn't wait to see it done! It was definitely a challenge of prospective, angles and lighting and you did fine!

The picture just wouldn't work with cel shading. So I tried airbrushing, which I fail horribly at.

I actually really like Vincent's face, it's like they're just caught in a moment, Cid's snuggled up closer to him in his sleep and he sighs contentedly and leans into the contact.
The dramatic lighting is neat, I like the levels of shading on his face and cloak, the warm tones from the fire on the left and the cool tones from the cave entrance on the right. Don't get down on yourself if you try something new and it doesn't turn out how you like, it's really quite nice, and that's how you learn silly.

I think it looks great. You did very well with the shadows and flames, I think. They both look very tired and I like the warm feeling the picture gives.
