"Raw Monsters", a desktop wallpaper I made a couple of weeks ago. Click Download Image to the right for the full-resolution file.I love how in Homestuck, the monsters that appear are apparently made of raw materials and minerals. I always found that quite bizarre and I'm surprised no one has really played on it; I thought I'd seize the opportunity to really try to render each one as what they physically are, which was a welcome challenge.
We have a Copper Giclops, a Crude Ogre, an Amber Basilisk, and a Ruby and Marble Imp.
Believe it or not, I struggled with Copper the most - even with photo reference it didn't really turn out the way I wanted. Oh well!

No idea. Something with a background. Because the whole idea with this one was to push myself out of my comfort zone and backgrounds are the least comfortable zone of all for me right now :v

You definitely succeeded in making them look true to their element. I think the crude ogre is my favorite though! (Marble imp is such a close second.) All of the reflections are just so wonderfully rendered. I can't imagine how long that must have taken you. xD;
