What if Asriel grew up? And became an adult? What would he look like? What would his magic abilities be? This is my interpretation, though I know I'm not the first to come up with them I just had to animate it. He has fire abilities like his parents, but is also able to summon a sword like when you fight him, and has random rainbow powers.
Gotta love all those rainbows.What about you guys? Do you have any other "What if" scenarios? maybe leave a comment if you do. I may make an animation based on it if I can come up with an idea for it.
I needed to do something that involved effects in some way, so I sort of chipped away at this every chance I could get. I did many things different than I normally would in animating this, such as animating on 3s rather than 2s just to see how it would look, and I also finally have an example of shading. This was made to look sort of anime-ish, but I'm not sure if I accomplished that.
Yes, I took the door in the background directly from the game, so no I didn't draw it. I was a bit lazy there.

Oh my goodness...this kind of talent is rare! I can now just imagine Asriel growing up to succeed his father, ruling with a kind heart and a fiery spirit, battling the demons that too much Determination brings with his epic magic and quick wit. And it's all thanks to this awesome short clip.
I suppose that you pretty much nailed what Asriel would have grown up to be able to do. I'm not sure if his fire would be rainbow-colored, but the sword is awesome. Perhaps if there were some sort of ritual to reclaim SOULs from the dead, it might be possible to bring Asriel back, since his body still exists. (Or would that just turn him into a revenant? I don't really know, but there's a "What If" idea for you.) And if it worked, not only could he do everything shown here, but I bet he'd be able to summon limited versions of the rest of the spells he used as the Absolute God of Hyperdeath, since he'd probably still remember using them and how he did it.
(And yeah. You totally succeeded in making it "anime-ish." Reminds me of Fullmetal Alchemist in a way.)
